To put this in perspective, me and my girlfriend met on eHarmony--she is 18, and I am 25. We have been dating for eight months, and everything seemed to be going fine... however, on Friday she told me that she doesn't "feel the same anymore". Apparently she broke down to her mother and said she didn't know if she felt the same because she wasn't feeling the over-the-heels sense that she felt at the beginning. I am her first true boyfriend, so maybe it was the end of the honeymoon phase scaring her... who knows. All I know is, she initially thought about breaking up, then she went ahead and said she really liked the idea of a break for a month (told me we would talk on January 14th, 2016 at 6:30PM). Unfortunately, though... I miss the hell out of her, but I don't know if she really wants a break or if she is just trying to ease the blow on the breakup. She repeatedly tells me that she loves me and that constantly leaves messages with "xo"... she has called me hun and baby since the start of the break, and no matter what she constantly says "Well, if I decide to come back in like a week or two and you're still single will you please give me another chance? Please?", which kind of strikes me as odd because if you're not sure of me now why would you want that reassurance that I'd take you back? It just... is very odd.

What do you guys think? Is it a break? A breakup? I have heard a lot of stories where breaks end with people getting back together especially if there are terms (like she said we can't have sex with other people but talking with others is fine as long as it is friendly and as long as they are just a date like dinner/movie). She also suffers from depression and anxiety as well as self-esteem issues..

Is it doomed, or is there hope? I am leaning towards there being hope especially considering how she still tells me she loves me... but I am also very confused by that.

The girl I'm talking about was previously in a relationship for just over a year before they broke up around 6 weeks ago.
I started speaking to her around 2 weeks before she broke up with her boyfriend because they were arguing and not getting along. At this point we were obviously just friends and nothing more, we hadn't done anything together ie hugged/kissed.
Around a week after the breakup we started seeing each other often in our local town. We went to places to eat, hang out & the cinema. Things were going really well between us. We were texting when not together & FaceTimed most nights.
Two weeks after her breakup she went to a party with her friends and ended up sleeping with a guy she knew from another college. About one week after sleeping with this guy she told me & was really sorry about it and said it wouldn't happen again; even though she said were weren't in a relationship anyway.
Recently after I got over the fact that she slept with someone else when she expressed that she liked me, we decided that she should come around to mine over the weekend.
She stayed over the night, and we chilled out, watched movies, & we made out for the first time. Later we kissed and cuddled then eventually went to sleep in the same bed. The day after we said our goodbyes as she went home, and we kissed again.
Later that evening we FaceTimed like usual and she told me she "Doesn't want to be tied down" & "just wants to have fun".
What do I do now? I really do love this girl, and she said that she liked me but doesn't want a relationship now. Why would she make out with me and sleep over if she wasn't interested in anything? I don't want to be the guy on the side whilst she finds someone else to get with. By her saying she just wants to have fun, does she mean she wants to get with other guys?

Do I express my feelings to her or find another girl that wants a relationship?
