Did the Trump Admin Execute More People in 5 Months Than Feds Did in Past 50 Years?

U. S. President Donald Trump's Department of Justice has killed death row inmates in a number unprecedented in the modern era, and more are scheduled to die.

On Nov. 29, 2020, The Washington Post’s editorial board published a piece containing a morbid statistic: In less than five months, the Trump administration had killed more death row inmates than the federal government had done in the previous five decades combined.

Even as U. S. President Donald Trump used his office to pardon his supporter and former national security adviser Michael Flynn in late November 2020 for twice lying to the FBI, his administration moved ahead with scheduling an unprecedented number of executions before Trump leaves office on Jan. 20, 2021.

The U. S. Department of Justice (DOJ) in the summer of 2020 ended a 17-year hiatus on federal executions. According to statistics gathered by the nonpartisan research nonprofit organization Death Penalty Information Center (DPIC), the DOJ had put to death eight people starting in July 2020. Until then, only three people had been executed by the federal government from 1970 to 2020.

Trump’s interest in capital punishment precedes his time in office. He infamously bought a newspaper advertisement calling for New York to adopt the death penalty in the case of the “Central Park Five” — five Black and Latino boys who were wrongly accused and convicted of beating and raping a jogger in Central Park. They were cleared, but not before they spent decades in prison.

Yesterday one of my colleagues accused me of doing X when I should have been doing Y. She never once struck me as that intelligent (her and two other females are of the same low IQ/low calibre mentality) because if she was she'd have realised I had just gotten off the phone with a customer & was only doing X for a minute or two (in this situation I was actually completing Y but had paperwork for X on hand - they're related, you can't do X without doing Y first).

Anyway she threw a snit about it - which I found comical as it took a few minutes out of her time & she really wasn't doing anything except socialising to begin with. But it gets better. She then proceeded to whine on the phone to the boss's partner about me doing X. I happened to be doing something else and when I heard her bitching stopped so I could listen into the conversation.

Afterwards, because it quite simply came across as her trying to cause trouble - the boss explained the entire situation later and though I can see where he is coming from let's put it this way I see why people don't hang around cause dimwit A & B (this colleague & the similarly simple brained cow she whines to about others) rotten attitudes makes working with them tiresome - and I lost my cool (saw red).

The boss said work with her. I've no problems with that. But I have no intentions of apologizing or anything of the like. She isn't worth it.
