So as mentioned before my coworker said I talk about you so my son wants to meet you take you to lunch. He likes to know people who are in my life can I give him your number? It's just lunch nothing else. Anyways , I initially said ," cool it's football season it would be cool to have a guy friend tag along and bar hop." After she had already given my number she says," no he doesn't want to watch football with you he wants to have lunch with you. He's going back to college and he has a good job he's just below a lawyer. Do you like husky guys?" That put me off because that sounds like she's trying to play matchmaker. I'm not interested in a coworker son and he doesn't sound appealing at all. I told her I'm not interested in that right now. Anyways the son text me. Once I figured out what they were up to such as matchmaker I ignored. Then he message again.

There's this guy who has Asperger's I was due to go out with but I re-scheduled twice earlier due to legit reasons.

I didn't know he's on the spectrum then and this would have made him anxious but he was accommodating both times and even tried to make me laugh with a joke (twitter meme) related to my situation. He comes across as awkward but this makes his attempts that much more adorable. I was told that the fact that he still wants to see means he's really into it even after this postponing.

The next time we were due to meet, I was having some social anxiety, and turned off my phone for the afternoon and didn't respond to his text to confirm plans until late afternoon after 4 hours when I turned it on. On hindsight, I believe this could appear like I was gonna flake again but I didn't but he kinda asked if we could reschedule as he couldn't hanlde drinking for the next work day but still gave me the option to stick to the best. I wasn't feeling the best either so readily agreed.

The next time we were due to meet i gave him 2 days which he never confirmed for (partly my bad as I was not direct in the message, didn't suspect he had ASP) and he assumed we were on when I already made plans. I believe that he was annoyed and ignored my suggestion for a quick drink. It felt like he was trying to learn the way i do things (but failing) as I'm very unpredictable.. (Im NT by the way)

Is it a good indicator of his interest if he's still talking to me?

Connected with a guy through a friend - I suspect he is an Aspie (formal choice of words, miscommunications, not understanding metaphors (taking things literally) and general awkwardness all around).

Thing is, we were supposed to meet for the first time about a month ago but I had to reschedule twice a while back as sth urgent at work came up and 2nd time I was really sick from the vaccine. That's when things got a bit strange

1) We attempted to rescheduled a third time. I offered 2 days - said day X could work but day Y would be best. He didn't respond for 4 days so I was kinda disappointed thought I was being ignored - on day Y, he assumed we were on and reached out to confirm plans but I'd already made plans but offered to meet for a quick drink that night before my later plans

He didn't respond to that. I was bewildered at this point.. I thought about it and then the asperger hit me. Someone also later told me that offering to meet for a drink before actual plans sounds like I see him as an afterthought so I gave the benefit of the doubt and assumed miscommunication. I messaged the next day saying I'm not sure what happened but would still like to meet

2) He replied 2 days later asking when I was free. We agreed to a day and on the day of i didn't hear from him (he has always texted the past few time) so i asked if we were still on. He then asked if we could reschedule to a week night as he wasn't feeling the best from a hangover on but said he could still make it. I was bummed out and told him no problem and feel better soon.

He then texted back that his:
- Schedule is open all5 days for the week
- apologised sincerely (albeit really formal) and thought his hangover would pass by now
- Later added that he could still make it but just would not be his usual chirper self

How would you find this? Does this sound like he got cold feet? He could have told me he was feeling hungover earlier in the day before I texted.
