A 28-YEAR-OLD office worker has been jailed after spending the night with a 12-year-old girl he thought was 19.

Carl Hodgson was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in jail after inviting the child to his flat in Manchester city centre through a popular adult dating app.

Hodgson filmed her on his mobile phone and took 3 pictures as she wore a body stocking and sent it to a friend, Manchester Crown Court heard. He also pleasured himself while the girl looked on.

Sentencing Hodgson, Judge David Stockdale QC told him: "(The victim) was by reason of her age highly vulnerable to exploitation and she was no doubt impressed by you.

"This is most serious offending as you now fully appreciate. The effects on a child of such a young age of offending of this sort are really well too known and well too documented. "These effects, in many cases, last for the rest of the child's life.

"I take into account that while (the victim) was 12 years of age at the time of these offences you did not believe that to be the case. You thought, and on reasonable grounds, that she was over 16."

The court heard that the victim used a different name on her dating app profile and falsely stated she was 19.

The defendant pleaded guilty at earlier hearings to causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child, distributing an indecent photograph of a child and making indecent photographs of a child.

"He is genuinely ashamed and remorseful for the circumstances he finds himself in but does not seek to minimize his behavior.

The court heard how his misconduct had a "profound" effect on him and had caused him to lose his "employment, his home and inevitable stigma".

Judge Stockdale said he was satisfied that Hodgson's remorse and regret was genuine and he noted the many testimonials he had received which spoke positively of the defendant's good character.

I started this job last week as a server in a hotel restaurant. I guess there is only one other server who wasn’t there on the two days I got trained by management. Her name is Rudi. I guess there used to be another server there who Rudi got fired or she quit or something of that extent, all within the last week. I never met the other girl. People in other departments are saying Rudi let off hidden stink bombs around the building and was blaming the other girl and clogging toilet stalls and intentionally misplacing or not putting back stuff after the shift was over and just damaging the property out of sight of cameras and blaming it on the other girl and it all went down hill from there. What’s weird is people were saying they got along well and then out of the blue, Rudi went crazy and was being a backstabbed and telling HR and all this stuff and either the girl got fired or quit and she still plays the victim to this day. Half of the people think it was Rudi but there’s no proof. Rudi also started about a month ago and before she even started working there, there was NO drama. She starts working there and all this drama happens. Every week it’s something new but of course Rudi is innocent. Everyone says you can’t be mean to her or confront her or she will tell management on you and management will yell at you. I just met her today and she didn’t really talk to me at first and then she asked me for ibuprofen and I warned her that two people that don’t like her are in the break room and I went and got her ibuprofen and she then tried to ask who the names of the people are and I told her and then she tried gossiping about them and I stopped her mid convo and said I really have to get back to work, I will see you after break is over. Then on lunch she came in and sat near me and I packed my stuff up and said have a nice lunch with a fake smile and ate somewhere else.

My best friends birthday is next month. My friend has been a huge fan of this singer since she was a toddler. The singer is currently on tour and she went to his concerts 4 different times last year and got High fives from the singer, selfies, interactions etc. she has a huge fan acct on Instagram too. She has an extremely rare hoodie (only 50 were made and it was a 12 hour sale) that she wears constantly from the singer and a rare t shirt from another pop up sale. There is this jacket from the singer on eBay thats from 2013 (there was only 200 made). It’s size S and she wears a large. Owner says it runs big but I don't know if it will fit her or not. This is the only time I’ve seen it on eBay and it’s being sold for $400 with tags still on and everything. She is also a Webkinz collector. Webkinz are stuffed animals with secret codes that you enter online to get a virtual version of your pet and you play games online with them and can name them and stuff like that. She has had her account opened since 2006 and probably has like over 200 animals on it. There is a huge lot on sale on eBay with 92 animals with codes still attached for $280 plus $25 shipping. Which is way under valued, considering the stuffed animals used to be sold for like $15 a piece. I know she would love either of the gifts, but I’m not sure which one to buy. What do you think?
