One of the things which I like about my life is that I have frequent contact with people much younger than myself, as well as with people older than me. Until a year ago, I mentored high school students in a teen court program. I have maintained a friendship with one of those students who is now 26 years old and married.

I am currently involved with advising young men in my fraternity's chapter at the local college. I maintain some friendships with students after they graduate.

I am president of my fraternity's alumni association and my other officers are recent college graduates. I am president of my congregation and my vice-president is in his late 70's, my pastor is in his early 30's, and they are both friends.

And, of course, I have many friends on G@G, most of whom are much younger than me.

Having friends of different ages helps me to maintain some currency and helps me to feel that I am still evolving instead of being a dinosaur whose days are numbered. I value the friendships that I have and feel blessed to have young and old friends along my journey.

Do you have friends of different ages? What is the age difference between you and your oldest or youngest friend?

I know this question will attract a lot of hate and I'm fine with it, I want to know what other people think. But ask yourself this first - has your pet ever tried to run away?

I am of this opinion -
If you look into the definition of slaves you won't find many differences between the conditions of pets and actual human slaves and see that it's all fundamentally unethical and harming their species. Aren't slaves trained to do things according to their 'master'? Don't people train dogs on how to behave?
Same goes for kidnapped people, I mean what does kidnapping mean? Taking someone away from their normal life (habitat for animals), putting them into cages or in chains (leashes), and hurting them for doing something the kidnapper doesn't want them to do? (Barking, peeing, shitting, biting - all the things pets know how to do)

I agree they're treated well, but don't some kidnappers feed and take care of their captive?

And sure dogs and cats are treated well in most families, but I'm not just talking about those two. Countless lizards, other reptiles, fish, turtles, birds etc face the same fate.
