There are some contradicting statistics. I myself have seen it go both ways. Some men have longer legs proportionally to their total height. But from most of the people I have seen, it is the women who have higher hips if their total height is equal or even shorter. There are women I even saw on quora who claim that males over a foot taller have lower hips and shorter leg inseams than her. Since most women's legs appear to be proportionally longer, that means when they sit down they appear shorter than they are. A man of the same height will look taller than the woman when sitting because his torso is longer.
