I have never said that I need closure after a break up.
If I say I need closure after a break up, I mean that I want to ask questions - why? is it somebody else? was I not enough? - but I know the answers I get may not be satisfactory.

I would listen to this information and consider it
I would be suspicious of this friend trying to warn me
I would immediately suspect they were jealous and not listen to them, maybe even stop talking to them altogether
It just depends on what they say and/or how they say it
