Definitely nightmares 😆…
I have random moments when I sound good and my family or friend is like, “whoa what was that?”

But most of time i sound like a mess haha…
I'm legitimately surprised by this. When you posted that "how does your voice sound" question some weeks ago, I'd have thought you sounded quite lovely at the mic.
Someone who heard me on a radio program asked if I hold my nose when I speak.
Blues/Rock/pop
You got 2 types of people. Those that can sing and make Karaoke their bitch.🤣 or those that can't and just grab the mic and howl but have a blast doing it.🤣 Either way, the point is just to have fun. I like singing along with a song while driving as much as the next person. I was in choir when I was back in school many many moons ago. I don't think I suck. But I don't have any illusions about how good I am either.🤣 the funny part is the songs I'd probably be best suited to sing are probably not my favorite songs to sing for karaoke.
Though my voice has been described as a cross between Fergie and Jesus.🤣
I'd say rock. But not high-pitched rock. More like Jim Morrison, Tom Petty and stuff in that vocal range.
I was surprised to find out that I can also do a great job on some stuff by Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Bobby Darin, Elvis, and also songs like When a Man Love a Woman, Stand By Me, etc.
But my main thing is late '60s and '70s rock. I was lead guitar and vocalist in garage bands from high school through my early thirties. And had another really good band from about 2010 to 2020. That ended with the covid mandates.
Whatever Sasha Alex Sloan and Billie Elish do. I can't do the screaming in high pitched for looong period of time but I can maintain a low pitch and silent voice easily.

My vocal range is honestly this. Just this. ha.
https://www.youtube.com/embed/yVPx4zalkiMI've heard rock, heavy metal and Southern rock, strange for a black man.
When I sing , I resemble the sound of a chair scraping a floor.
My voice is better suited for instrumental music. I sound like a bag of sick cats when I sing.
that would really depend on who's listening... and what is considered as "best for"
I do have some range though
Fuck if I know, folk or blue grass?
I forgot to include those, didn't I?
I mean... throw it in with country I guess?
My best position to play in a choir is the same as my best position in a baseball team... Left Right Out.
Probably punk rock, so I don't have to sing.
Ballads in the genre of Gordon Lightfoot, Glen Campbell, James Taylor.
If I was capable of singing country since I have an accent.
I've been told I sound like a cross between James Hetfield, and David Dramin. But I still suck lol.
Show tunes.
What's your best one?
Pop Musics
Funeral dirge
My voice is best fitted for country music.
