I’ve been talking with this guy for two weeks now. He wants to meet but due to me having a protective father, I’m waiting to see if he’s worth meeting my dad or not. He seems to respect my decisions but I can tell he wants to meet so badly. He’s told quite a few people about me. He told his grandma and showed her a picture of me earlier! Besides him being sweet, he’s been calling me “baby” and “princess” like it’s my name. He calls me beautiful and compliments me constantly as well. I haven’t reciprocated any pet names back except “sweetheart”. I call lots of people that though. I am not used to guys acting like that with me. So I want to say that he’s saying it genuinely... People and looks can be deceiving though.

I’ve been thinking about it and is it off putting for him to say pet names and compliment me so much this early on?

My boyfriend of three years and I broke up, for like four days. It was a hard time and I was very upset and hurt. Long story short, we talked and worked it out and we are back together. by the way, we have lived together for a majority of our relationship. But, once I told my mom and sister, that we are back together they have been so negative. I have been in multiple relationships where I have been hurt and I have listened to them when it comes to it. But now, that I am making my own choice and choosing to stay. They make me feel horrible for it. by the way, he didn’t cheat or anything or done anything horrible to me. We just weren’t really discussing what bothered us in our relationship. Anyways, now that we are back together. It’s been maybe a month or so now, they make me feel horrible for getting back together. My mom keeps saying “you guys argue all the time” when we literally don’t. And even if we did, I don’t tell her everything because of her reaction. I purposely don’t tell her stuff because she will hold onto it and make it a big deal. My mother and my sister also said they’re waiting for our relationship to fail and said that I’m not as strong as a woman as I think I am because we decided to get back together. I get that they’re trying to be protective and such. But they can also be supportive even though then don’t agree with the decision. And every time I ask them to be more supportive they start yelling and say that they are being supportive but continue to tell me how much of a failure my relationship is going to be and how i should listen to them and leave the relationship still. It’s almost like they’re mad at me for not making the decision they want me to make. I have been dating this man for three years and I am not going to just breakup because my mom and sister will think negative things. I’ll do it if I want to. And I’m 25 and he’s 24. But am I just misinterpreting their words or does it sound like they’re trying to control my decision?

I grew up with four brother, I was the only girl 😢 My parents and brothers are very protective of me and always have been. Growing up I wasn’t allowed to hang out with certain people especially boys and those very few guy friends I did have we’re scared off.

I’m now 23 and have never been kissed or been on a date and part of the reason is because I’m terrified that my parents or brothers might do or say something. It gives me anxiety just thinking about it in my head.

I want to go on dates, I want to have my first kiss and more but I can’t exactly do it in secret because they literally watch everything I do. Sometimes I feel that they’ll be okay with me dating and being in a relationship but they’ll make a comment or do something that changes my mind.

Like today I was scrolling through TikTok in my room and my brother knocked on the door. I put the iPad down on the bed and opened the door. My brother saw the iPad and saw a guy on it and automatically started asking questions like “what are you doing “ and “who’s that”. Imagine if I was actually on FaceTime to a guy 🤦🏼‍♀️ It embarrassing.

Anyone else in similar situation and if so how are you coping? Advice welcome
