Do most women take their heels/shoes off at the reception? For dancing?
I want to wear heels, but I don't want to be stuck in them all night and the last wedding reception I was at was when I was like 4,so I don't really remember much lol
While you're seated you can probably slip them off and no one would notice, but generally the start of the dancing is quite formal, so shoes would be required. Towards the end of the dancing things become less formal (probably due to alcohol consumption) and it would probably be all right.
However, it does depend on the wedding, if the bride and groom are quite easy going, casual people then, chances are the other guests will be too and there will be no problem with thaking off your shoes, but if they are more uptight and formal then it would probably be frowned upon by other guests.
If you've been invited, chances are you know the bride and groom and should be able to tell whether the wedding will be a big formal event or more casual, fun celebration.
If you're really stuck just bring along a pair of flats that match your outfit. Dressy sandals are good, as they can look great with dresses and fit in with a formal outfit, and they can also fit easily into a handbag.
Hope this helps,
Gwen.
A word to the wise: sometimes those dance floors are really slippery! I would just do the regular wedding in heels, then bring some flats with you to change into during the reception. Besides sometimes weddings are a lot of standing around, that could make it pretty painful to get up and dance later.
Besides don't most brides change before the receptions as well?
Last wedding I went to was 2 weeks ago:P I took them off after about an hour or so when my feet started to hurt^^nobody cared:P Just make sure you don't step into glass or anything gross^^
Women always take their heels off after a while of dancing. Just do what makes you comfortable, be sure that you dance with someone that doesn't step on your feet.

I have seen some people do that before, it depends on how formal the wedding is. I'm going to one soon so I'm wearing flats for the service and heels for the reception. Maybe just take a spare pair of flats?
I took my off after I danced. But it probably really doesn't matter.
I usually do.
yep
