+1 yCan I comment honestly? No offense!
I think the behaviors of Black people, both males and females, really depend on their educational background.
The Black people I meet on campus are really nice, but I meet many Black people on streets of cities, such as New York City and Philadelphia, who are not nice.
Talking about stereotypes, I think while they are not totally true, they are also not totally false. Stereotypes come from a combination of reality and exaggeration. Since Black people have lower educational attainment rate and higher crime rate on average, it is possible to lead people to have certain negative stereotypes on Black people, both males and females.
As an Asian, I also suffer some stereotypes, such as Asian males are feminine. This is also not true, but people should not be blamed because it is true that Asian males are on average height and weight.
So again, I know many Black males and females are nice people, but I also meet many impolite Blacks off-campus. It depends on their educational background and family background.82 Reply- +1 y
In a short, Black girls in college are quite nice and warm-hearted, while those without good education are likely to be impolite.
No racism is in my comment, and hope it does not offend you. - +1 y

+1 yI go to a college where most people are black, and I'v only been living in the US for a year and a half, so I'm gonna base my opinion on what I've seen since I got here.
I've seen black women with total different personalities, from the super shy girl that rarely opens her mouth, to the obnoxious that can't keep her mouth shut. I've met girls that don't have a sense of style, to girls that dress incredibly great. I've seen ugly girls, but also absolutely beautiful ones (there's this one girl that every time we see each other we stare and we clearly know there's some sexual tension there).
What I'm saying is that I've met so many different black women that no word comes to my mind when I think of them, I can't describe black women just with one word.6012 Reply- +1 y

Stereotypes are based on majority by the way not minority... otherwise no would understand stereotypes
The reason when a stereotype is made and everyone's gets it, is because most people at some point in their life seen an event to confirm the stereotype... they have some merit, doesn't mean it's a stereotype it's not true

The first things that really comes to mind about black women are: Ebony, Ms. Big Booty, Sexual Chocolate, Tough Black Woman. Seriously there are lots of guys out there who are truly into black women in multiple occasions along with having sexual imaginations about them. Believe me when I say that every MSN & woman from different races has their ups & downs/strengths & weaknesses. All you have to do is be your true self then you will see that the guys will be all over you like flies in no time. Keep calm & things will get better for you soon. I know a lot about this situation, because I'm black as well.

Another thing to say about black women is that they are too beautiful, sexy, & they really make me feel nervous once I'm around them. I'm proud who I am not because if my skin color but because God created the way he wanted me to look by his very own image. Every person should be comfortable within themselves no matter what. Then again big butts on females does turn me on uncontrollibly.

So I don't think that when I hear black girls. To be honest the first thing that came to mind was sexy. Then down to earth. That's just going off the ones I know.

First off screw the negative stereotypes. I've found that black women have treated me far better than other women I've met. There maybe a few bad apples in the bunch but generally speaking I'm happy being with them.
130 ReplyWhy would I think anything different from someone else? I mean I guess if someone says black girls, that's the two words that will be in my mind-as I seem to be an overly simple thinker. I mean I would wonder if they meant actual black girl? Like Australian aborigines, or if they meant a super dark brown like African-due to me being a bit of a nerd. But, like I said, not much would really come to mind-not until they stated a name.

So just because a women alters her body she doesn't deserve to be called pretty anymore? So your basically saying the super hot girls with confidence deserve to have their egos boosted more BUT the ones that feel they need some help to feel better, should be kicked while their trying?
So if you try and wear make up (on a smaller scale) should I automatically call you fake vs my friend whos pretty without make up? - +1 y
If they're small alterations or something that's not too dramatic that makes your body like super disproportionate it's not attractive. I didn't say surgery wasn't ok, but if it no longer makes you look like a disproportionate human that's when it's taking thing too far. As I said before it's MOST of her body parts, NOT just 1 or 2 places.
- +1 y
@xXiTacoXx
Most of her body parts? How do that even make sense lol... Fake Boobs are very common, and no one knows if her booty is fake or not, she claims its not...

@xXiTacoXx
To be fair, a lot of black women do bleaching... its like a trend... and a lot of black women want straight hair so they use chemicals. ... Right? - +1 y
@xXiTacoXx
Latoya Jackson, little Kim, Kardashian, Kenya (shes a supermodel by the way), Rihanna was accused of bleaching as well
Tons and tons of black people do it - +1 y
It's not a trend and a lot of black women don't do it due to it being a trend. Hell, many black women don't do it at all. As for the ones who do 9.99/10 times it's because of the whole self-hate and "light skin is the right skin" mentality. Skin bleaching comes with a lot of health risks including cancer. There's a difference between having a hairstyle because you like it, a trend, and bleaching your skin and harming your health just to be lighter.
- +1 y
@xXiTacoXx
So its a trend BUT not a trend because it is a trend? lol Im not sure if that makes sense... Yea a lot of girls do it, sure its a health risk but to isolate Nicki for it doesn't make sense when many many other black women do it too
The things you say about her is really just aesthetics... Thats the outside, its not whats important. Major artists back her up, your not giving her enough credit...
Seems more like a personal thing, maybe your jealous? lol - +1 y
I didn't say it was ok for other black women to do it, but the person you posted a picture of is Nicki Minaj so of course her skin bleaching would be the topic and this "trend" of self hate and wish you they were lighter has been going on for well over a century now but I guess someone like you who isn't black wouldn't understand anything that goes on in black culture. I'm also not jealous of someone who looks like the after affect of bad surgery. People who I am jealous of and admire include Nikki from JamieandNikki and Lupita because their beauty is my preference and they are proud of who they are with no surgery needed. I think it's awesome if a person has either very little surgery done, or no surgery done and try not to look like a super bootied Barbie doll who raps about sex like every other generic rapper. I miss when people actually rapped about life, not how big their ass is or how many bitches they've fucked, or money. If there's one or who things that you want to (continued)
- +1 y
change because you like the way it looks and not because you hate yourself then that's fine. It's when you're changing yourself to the point of doing drastic and super body modifying things because you hate yourself is what I have an issue with. Also, you can call the guys backing Nicki Minaj "artists" if you want, but many of them haven't come up with something truly good and inspiring with out it being hyper sexual in a good minute. They might make 1 non-generic and very good song out of 100 if they're lucky and decide to go against the norm for once.
- +1 y
@xXiTacoXx
I see your point... sure... BUT its isolating her for no reason... Why does it bother you what she does with herself? IF that makes her feel comfortable then its her choice and she kicked for it. Im not black but I do know black girls. Some sound just like you and talk to me about how they hate this type of stuff... They despise bleaching and having straight hair with a passion. They rather walk around with a afro because its natural. Sure thats fine too
You can't blame black women for wanting to please society, society has a thing for non black features... So these women feel they need to upgrade themselves, thats really all..
To be fair, she's making songs and raps about things that sell! Drake, Chris Brown and little Wayne are not small time, there big time artists!
IF she was so bad, she wouldn't sell any records... Simple as that really - +1 y
Just because it sells doesn't necessarily mean it's good and these girls aren't upgrading anything. It's like saying just because people buy meth and cocaine it automatically makes those items magical healing drugs. You may know some black girls, but until you have been a black girl you really don't have room to talk why they do certain things. A person shouldn't alter their body to please society. They should do it because they want to please themselves regardless of what anyone else thinks, but sadly when it comes to black women that's not the case 8-9 out of 10 times and it's sad. We should be helping society know that different features people have are beautiful and are nothing to be ashamed of. Asian women, Black women, White women, Hispanic women, Native American women, Middle Eastern women, Pacific Islander women, and etc all have beautiful feature unique to them and they shouldn't be discarded just because society says this specific look is what you have to have (continued)
- +1 y
@xXiTacoXx
That sounds very nice to me... Id love that... Id also love that money doesn't rule the world and how having social status makes your life better...
The reality is not all races and not all features are loved by people. You can't change over 5 billion people over years and years in the making. you just can't. Thats why these girls choose to ride the wave and be happy.
When it comes to entertainment, yes it sells only because people want it.
I get the whole lets all be ourselves and sing kumbiiya and be happy BUT its just not like that... Men feel the need to work out, get rid of chest hair and have big penises to please women..>Women feel the need to look feminine, have as little hair as possible to attract men
Its just the world and the bottom line is you can't hate on her just because she's part of millions of black girls that want the same thing BECAUSE of society. you should rather hate on the people making her go through extremes to feel comfortable in her own skin - +1 y
Well things aren't going to change unless people start trying to make a push for it and there are people trying to do so. I also don't just dislike her. There's a plethora of people I don't like, but as I said in one of my other replies. You used her picture so this makes her the subject. Had you picked a different picture, or multiple pictures with the same "beauty" standards, I would have said the same thing. People only want things that seem cool to other sadly, but in order to fix all of this something has to be said and done. Even if it does sound like a utopian idea.
- +1 y
@xXiTacoXx
A perfect example is Opera. One girl asked her own the show how does she have such pretty hair. Black girls know having touchable soft hair you can drag your fingers through is nicer. It's not media that says that, it's our natural senses that prefer that.
Opera basically told her that she had a hair stylist her whole life and that's why her hair is so nice.
If Opera wants run your finger through type of hair, you better believe women are going to follow
You can't change that, it's built in humans to a certain extent. We prefer soft to ruff, we enjoy daylight but also night, our skin feels good when you run warm water over it, our eyes are more attracted to symmetrical faces.
Some of it, sadly, can never really change... - +1 y
People who don't have long silky hair also have very soft hair and you can run your fingers through it. It depends on if you take care of it not your hair texture. I can't count how many times someone acted surprised that they can do that with someone else's afro and I can't count how many times I've heard "Wow your hair is so soft", and "I thought your hair is suppose to be nappy." All I can think while all of this is happening is "Of course my hair would be soft and not nappy because I take care of it you little shits..." The only way a persons hair regardless of hair texture would be rough and patchy is if you didn't take care of it. I wish people would realize that. If they did maybe then peoples hair wouldn't be thinning and retreating to the back of their heads due to those dollar store chemicals they like to use. There's a lot more to having soft and run your fingers though hair than just having it straightened. -3-

And this is coming from a black woman. I love being an African American woman. While I realize that not every black woman acts like a rabid b*tch, there is an overwhelming amount who pride themselves on it. They wear careless, nasty, b*tchy attitudes like a badge of honor. But if you want to stop with that identity, you're going to have to start with yourself. And I don't mean YOU, but just saying a general "you" lol. I feel like to stand a chance with one of them, you would have to be a gang member or something lol.
For some reason, when I hear "black women" I think of one of those blacks that act white, like going to law school or running their own makeup company, etc.44 Reply- +1 y
When you hear "black women" & "black girls" your thoughts are different? I'm just confused as go what you were trying to say lol, explain a bit further :)
Opinion Owner+1 yIn a nutshell, "girl" is the stereotype, "woman" is a more professional/older type.
"Black girls" is the stereotypical black female. Maybe it's because I'm used to hearing "white boys" as a term of contempt. When I hear "white boys" I think of some scrawny dirt-bike rider who deals meth and drives a big truck.
"Black women" is just an average black female, or even a professional/white-collar one. Even if I hear "white men" as a term of contempt, I think of a boss or a judge that discriminates the blacks that way. A white-collar type.

How many black girls do you know?
Opinion Owner+1 yThere's not many in my area but the few I do see when I go to the store do kind of act like that.
