Why do men stare at women at the gym?

It's rude and makes me feel awkward. I don't know about other women but that's how I feel. I go to the gym to workout not get gawked at. Makes me want to slap the shit out of them to be completely honest.

It is really awkward. I try and keep my head down so I don't see when they look, but out of the corner of my eye I can still see people turn their heads and it's really uncomfortable

I find your attitude on this subject interesting. Half of women go to the gym in clothes so tight you could count the change in their pocket---if there were room for any. The other half wear very little at all. Based on your profile picture, I think it is safe to assume you also dress to accentuate your physical assets.

So, you go to the gym looking hot so men WON’T notice you? And when a man stares a little too lingeringly for your taste, you want to slap him? You say it makes you feel awkward but you do not seem like the sort of woman who is easily intimidated.

Because we think you're attractive, but lack the confidence to approach you. We think it would be rude to interrupt your workout and often think you're already seeing someone. We also fear coming off as creepy even if we intend the most gentlemanly conversation if we were to try to approach you.

Most guys try not to. If a girl has a nice body it will catch attention in and outside of the gym. Imagine being a guy... When I'm in the gym wearing my stringer, I go over to the cardio area (which is generally dominated by females) and I get stares when I stretch and do stuff there. Accept it, I do! Take it as a compliment. I understand that you feel slightly violated but guys look at other guys more than they do girls, trust me!
