I have a nose piercing, but the crystal of my stud is changing color. Why?

My clear crystal nose stud started changing to an aqua color, then a green color after about 4 months of having it. I got a new one (same kind) and of course, the same thing happened. Why does it do that? And is it just that brand/type of stud, or do most clear crystals in nose studs do that? Here's a before and after.

its the fake metal that is turning color actually. Its more than likely a fake metal and when fake metal comes into contact with moisture like water or even the humidity in your nose, it rusts and turns green,

The best way to avoid this is to buy a better nose ring. Buy a stainless steel or genuine metal nose ring. You can get them at hot topic or you can get one from a piercing shop. They are more expensive but its better than having a rusty piece of metal in your nose.
