Guys, have you ever done that? How did everyone act around you?
Guys shopping in Victoria's Secret?
Guys, have you ever done that? How did everyone act around you?
Well, there are two motives for a guy being there. He's shopping "for his girl" -- to get something he'd like her to wear -- or he's shopping for himself...
The oddest thing I've ever seen is a guy who was awkwardly trying to rush through the shopping process in an attempt to buy his wife a few more pairs of something she'd sampled for him at home. At 6"2' -- IMAGINE -- it was impossible for him to "hide" or blend in within the tightly-packed little boutique. He was one of the only things there not clad in pink, lol.
After receiving several odd glances for rifling through the clearance bins, he finally taps an attendant on the shoulder and asks her for help.
She, of course, is very loud. The more he whispers and stutters, the louder she gets, trying to repeat every sentence he utters.
"What's the name of the piece you're looking for?...You don't KNOW? Well, that makes it hard... Do you know what color you're looking for? What do you mean you don't know if it's blue or green? I thought you said you have it at home."
He's beet red at this point, clears his throat, and closes his eyes tightly (the ostrich defense) and proceeds to describe the item in as much detail as possible.
"OOH! I know what you're looking for now, hon. You mean this, right?"
He opens his eyes and nearly passes out. Instead of holding up a sample or pointing to a display, for example, the associate had lifted her skirt to show him the piece.
(I put a hand on my mouth and hid behind a mannequin, trying not to laugh.)
"Is that it, hon?"
He nodded, eyes bulging.
"Oh, honey, they don't make these any more. Let me show you something else."
"NO!" He finally hollers "I don't want you to show me anything else. You're a disgusting person."
I nearly fell under the table! Several people had stopped to stare at him. A manager rushed over and tried to calm him down, but he was already storming past us all to get the heck out of the store. (Can't say that I blame him.)
...Yes, the associate got fired. No, I don't think this once normal guy will ever find himself in a VS again, no matter how much he loves his wife...
I use to work at a Victoria Secrets. You would be surprised at how many guys come in there by themselves. All of them seemed uncomfortable and all were getting a gift. Just go in there and ask one of the girls working if she can help you. She will get you right to what you are looking for, and get you in and out. Also, You could go online also. There is usually so much more online! It would save you from feeling awkward in the store and would be easy to find what you are looking for. Anyway, Hope that helped!
If I saw a guy at VS, I would assume he was shopping for his girlfriend. The only time it would be creepy, is if he was like checking out all the girls there, trying to chat them up, or leering at them or going through all the underwear by himself.
Just go in there, find a sales person, and tell them you are shopping for your girlfriend. They will show you around the store, then no one should think you're a perv lol.
Thanks :) its just un-nerving, being a guy in there with all those panties, thongs, and bras. It feels like I shouldn't be there haha.
When girls see a non-pervy guy at VS, all they think is "gee I wish my boyfriend would buy me this stuff!" haha
LOL, thanks girl! Confidence boost :)
Guys, have you ever done that?
I shopped there to buy my lady friend couple of gifts. I asked for help to speed up the purchase. I did not felt weird at all because it is clothes.
I felt nervous once when I shop at Victoria's Secret for items for my Halloween costume.
How did everyone act around you?
Most costumers are minding their own business. I was surprised that the sales associates level of assistance helping me with my Halloween Costume.
I might ask them for some help putting together my Halloween Costume. What did you go as? That might give me some ideas.
A woman socialite.
I guess I'm just trying to understand what is creepy how about a guy who enjoys wearing pretty things. I have secret worn panties and other lingerie under my clothes since I was around 11. and I not only have shopped for myself at victorias secret but I have also tried things on there. the girls are always very helpful and professional I've even had them fit me for a bra
I go in there for my girl but have always wondered what it was like to get fitted and all for a bra and panties but don't know how to ask.

I thinks its great to see a guy in victoria secret,i mean your telling everyone that your girl is that important to you to be seen in there and you don't care. Its funny because I jus asked my guy about that just the other day and he said that would be weired.lol. but I'd think it great. But wait! Us girls always go into your guys so called guy shops and have no worries so why would you? Lol :)
I like what you say here. I've been shopping at Victoria's Secret for the better part of a year, and the first time I went in, there was actually another dude with his girlfriend. He looked all uncomfortable, but I didn't care. I just wanted to know where the sexy shorties were, lol.
As long as he's not sniffing the panties or anything, he's good. :P A lot of guys go into VS or other women's stores/sections/departments. Most people will know that you're probably shopping for your girlfriend/wife. :]
I've seen it and I guess it is a little funny. What is awkward is if a dad and daughter are there together buying thongs and other kinky things. If you feel insecure why not shop online. There is more variety.
Nope the guys who are creepy are the ones who run the underwear for just too long. But if you go in there and look like your on a mission I'll just assume your shopping for someone else
Whenever I see a guy in Victoria's Secret or in a lingerie section, I assume they're buying for their girlfriend and I think that's not only sweet of them, but sexy. I think that the only reason someone might look or act odd around you while you're shopping is because you are the one feeling awkward and self-conscious about being in there.
Not weird. I would think exactly that, that you're buying it as a gift for someone
I would love that. You might feel awkward but what's the chances of those people seeing you there again and remembering you.
Maybe if you feel super uncomfortable going there, take another female friend with you?
Everyone knows and assumes that you are there to shop for a female pretty much.
If they are shopping for their girlfriend that is understandable. If they are shopping for themselves, that is weird.
