I understand the people who are seeing their money melt away before their eyes or who are in debt or who know they'll have no money left for food soon are out there wanting to get back to work. But in my opinion it's completely the wrong reaction. They should be protesting the fact that unlike many other governments the U. S. government has barely given them any support.
The best example that the U. S. stimulus bill had trillions for big companies and banks, a little bit of money for small businesses (which is already all gone and was not nearly enough) and a one time check of 1.200 bucks which for many people hasn't arrived yet. Whereas in places like France and the U. K. you have like 60-90% of normal wages paid out by the government monthly.
And those people who are just out there because they think the pandemic isn't a big deal... I mean, just look at the statistics. Even with the lockdown the pandemic has already taken more lives in a few weeks than the flu throughout an entire year. Those people are just drunk on right-wing conspiracy stuff and I don't have much sympathy for that. They're endangering people out of sheer ignorance.31 Reply- +1 y
Also, just fyi, the argument of "we need to help the economy" is bullshit. The economy is not going to become healthy again just by stopping this lockdown. The economy will only return to normal once the pandemic has actually been dealt with. If most people don't feel safe, they won't go out to places as normal. They won't consume as much. That's a problem for the economy. So is people dying and hospitals being overrun. So is people having to stay home because they're sick with this virus. it's delusional that just "opening up the country" will suddenly mean everything's hunky dory again.

The virus isn't a person it's not something we negotiate with. It's a reality we have to live with and that's not something we people are good at.
Right now this makes no sense it's a waste of time and a danger since it's public gathering. I know the economy is at risk but the economy won't mean shit if we're all corpses so let's just try and stay alive for now and we can all fix our lives when it's all over.00 Reply

+1 yThe virus spreads fast, stopping it from spreading is the point of the lockdown. Like forget corona, even if it's common cold would you be okay with people spreading it around? Just because it doesn't kill people doesn't make it any less of a disease. Seriously people have no patience these days... Even if it means saving everyone including themselves.

Or, listen to the president.
He has closed their gates, he is in control of his smelly little bubble.

Oh hello racist
- +1 y
@Suhailadil89
It's got nothing to do with 'race".
(I don't even believe in "race".)
But this is a cultural thing.
You're culture hates America and for that reason, we hate your culture.
I'm sure there are people from the UAE that love America who don't dance and celebrate when Americans die and I'm fine with them, but the majority hate America and disparage it regularly.
Let me know if this isn't the case, alright? - +1 y
Nope this is so not the case... like i said... ur racist mind doesn't let u think positively and u make up these false ideas in ur head..
- +1 y
@Suhailadil89
Well, in retrospect, maybe I was a very slightly tougher on the UAE than I should have been.
This survey is old, but here it is:

Note:
This was right after we defended Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
Still, it's not extremely positive. - +1 y
So u r telling me they disliked your nation for sending your army on a pointless war in their territory... accusing them of weapons they never had.. and destroying their country with bombs and thousands of innocent lives.. and it somehow hurt ur precious conciousness? If u really wana have a healthy debate im all in for telling u what your media does not... but if wana stay the arrogant n think r above the rest.. then i have no interest in replying here anymore... FYI.. i dont think USA has any right to question if any country has nuclear weapons let alone launch an attack over baseless accusations just to capture their oil... so USA can have nuclear weapons but others cant?
- +1 y
@Suhailadil89
Was the first war justified?
Where we defended Kuwait and the Saudis (1990-1991)? - +1 y
Look.. u stick ur nose in any war that isn't yours in the first place.. people will hate u period . Saudis and Kuwaitis had their own agenda.. USA had its own.. did u know in the beginning USA was taking more than 50% if the oil profits in Saudi arabia? Why do u think they came here pretending to "save" them.
Secondly.. if USA was such a protector of the weak.. why hasn't it yet done any thing in Kashmir... palestine. . Myanmar... Bosnia... of the level it did in saudi and kuwait and Afghanistan.. .. ill tell u why.. those poor people dying at the hands of Indian army, Israeli army , chinese extremist, didn't have oil reserves or other riches.. so no interest to the states.. - +1 y
So before u blame others for hating you.. look within and u will find the answers.. not everything is as your media and gov portrays it to be buddy.
- +1 y
@Suhailadil89
No doubt the oil made a difference, but did the US directly profit? No.
If you look at how much the war (and rebuilding efforts) cost, it wasn't worth it from a financial perspective.
On Palestine... - +1 y
U amd I will never know how much they profited from oil.. i believe its massive..
+1 yI support them

"CDC estimates that the burden of illness during the 2018–2019 season included an estimated 35.5 million people getting sick with influenza, 16.5 million people going to a health care provider for their illness, 490,600 hospitalizations, and 34,200 deaths from influenza"
www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/2018-2019.html
"United States Coronavirus Cases: 803,575 Deaths: 43,663" Apr. 24.
www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/
You're thinking of the previous year, "2017-2018 season was an estimated 45 million influenza illnesses, 21 million influenza-associated medical visits, 810,000 influenza-related hospitalizations, and 61,000 influenza-associated deaths".
And it's only because of these extraordinary measures that the figures might not top the 61,000 mark.
