I’d imagine that’s just where the work is. For people behind the camera, entertainment work is entertainment work, so if you’re a cameraman or editor or makeup artist by trade or something, you probably live in the Los Angeles area to start with. For the studios themselves, I could see LA being a good place to find talent, as many young, often attractive people move there to “make it” in the entertainment industry. Making it is hard, and everybody has their different limits and comfort zones, so some frustrated people may resort to or even just be fine with working in the adult industry. So it makes sense that the adult industry can attract people away from their mainstream dreams, and would therefore be based in the same neck of the woods.

I guess because a lot of young attractive women historically have gone to California to become movie actresses but porn was all they could get. So porn companies took of advantage of California having loads of young hot desperate women. The answer is because that's where the porn industry is.

I've lived in California for the past 5 years, and it's mainly because it's an increasingly degenerate state. Sexual deviancy has become the norm here, and you get "BDSM" parades with kids alongside them. Masturbation has become a part of the elementary curriculum and raping a child 10 years younger than you no longer makes you a sex offender in some situations. More & more people are moving out, and I just might follow suite.
