Are tattoos a white trash status symbol? And why do poor people spend so much money on tattoos?

It doesn't make any sense. Why spend so much money permanently decorating yourself to be part of a lower social class.

Generally speaking, yes. People of higher intelligence understand that almost all tattoos look like shit and fade into indiscernible scribbles.

The losers who get them like to attribute them with special little sentimental meaning, but in the end they're all Rorschach blots that they use to tell a story that isn't all that interesting.

My initial reaction was that’s not true but as I thought about it people I know who are doing well don’t have any tattoos. People who are not doing so great in comparison have tattoos. People with one tat seem to be middle class.

No, tattoos get a bad reputation generally because of religious people, but they do not inherently make you part of a "lower class".

This week, I'm traveling to a different city from my own. This time I'm scoping out some properties in a very working class part of town, and all I see are poor people walking around covered in tattoos. I'm not sure I blame the religious people for the bad rap. I think someone duped the poor people into thinking their tattoos make them cool.

Just because you dislike a particular fashion sense or artistic style doesn't mean it's a "white trash" style.

My tattoos did not cost a lot... each bunny was $300 dollars, and compare that to a Playboy shirt which starts at $35, and I've made more than my money back.
Plus, I can turn any $8 tank top into a $35 shirt, so I've more than made my money back.

Used to be thugs , bikers, people in gangs and trash but I’ve seen more on women now from all races and status having them so it’s hard to say if it’s just poor people getting them
