Is everybody ok right now?

This question is geared mainly to people in the South (USA). We are having severe weather. My hotel room I've lived in for 2 years just got destroyed and I've lost most of the few remaining possessions I have left, but I'm ok and the hotel manager agreed to put me in an upgraded room and keep my same rate.

Please pardon my inquisitiveness in asking just why you are living in a hotel room?

When I left the military I got into a boatload of debt trying to help family while trying to juggle college, work and mental issues from the military. Eventually I got kicked out of my mom's place because I would not let her milk me for more money than I agreed to pay for rent due to the extra money feeding her alcoholism. Housing where I live is horrendously high compared to the average wages earned in my area. That, bankruptcy and many more issues have made it hard to find a place. Financially I am pretty stable right now, but many apartments want more time to pass before they will risk renting to me.
