Why do jealous people feel the urge to compete with people they’re jealous of?

I get that people can get jealous of people’s accomplishments or happiness, but why do they feel the urge to compete with those people?

I would not agree to that some people are just jealous
Real life example
I know a person who too owns a law firm
Well I too own a law firm
His law firm is way bigger than mine but he is jealous of me
No reason at all
He is not competing against me or anything he is jealous of all successful powerful rich influencial people coz he has jealousy
There is no logic
