+1 yI know a lot of people do not like Mr. Trump. Mr Trump is a businessman, he has learned to step on toes it doesn't matter if he hurts people's feelings. A lot of people that support him are not idiots. It's just like President Biden a lot of people that support President Biden or a bunch of morons.
Over my years of life I've learned not to talk about politics and it doesn't matter who's in office.00 Reply

+1 yIdiots? Not necessarily. There are different “types” of Trump supporters, I can’t paint them all with the same brush. I’d say that they probably prioritize (or DON’T prioritize) different goals and values than I would a lot of the time, and in certain cases, I don’t much respect the spirit of those goals and values. I DO think many are gullible, in the sense that I feel like they’re buying into what I view as a lot of showmanship and hollow theatrics, the circus that was the MAGA campaign. At the same time, I think I just uniformly don’t subscribe to many beliefs of conservatism in general, that’s more of the issue than whoever the politician they wheel out as the idealogue of it all.
I think certain aspects of the beliefs of many of his supporters are hateful and ignorant, and that I unequivocally do NOT respect. I don’t have a lot of room for people who are hateful and spend their lives judging the actions and behaviors of the people who live around them. One thing I would say of Trump people, a little more broadly…they seem very, very fearful. They really seem to think that there’s danger around every corner, and everyone else is out to get you, or us, collectively. I’m not saying there’s no merit to any of their concerns, but it sure feels like the level is way higher than it needs to be. I just don’t understand how people live in such a constant state of anxiety. I guess it’s an attempt to control life, and they haven’t figured out there is no controlling life, you kind of just have to let go of the wheel, ride the ride, and hope for the best.
Running out of time, I can’t expound on this the way I want to. I think I really just “blame” the nature of conservative politics and values, not without exceptions, but so much of it just seems misguided, *possssssiblyyyyyy* well-intentioned in some degree (other times, quite the opposite), but very misguided and over-reactive, and worst of all, severely lacking in empathy and understanding. I don’t think you’re going to take a society very far without the empathy, man, or if you do, it’ll be a wildly indecent one. I gotta bail here, but in short, I wouldn’t call them all idiots, they’ve just been convinced that things that don’t matter, DO matter, or that they’re under some sort of attack from others. I don’t feel
like anything that’s currently societally “under attack” (dramatically worded, lmao) is anything that shouldn’t be under attack, personally.00 Reply 1.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Is a frog's ass watertight
Look I don't like Trump I have never liked Trump because he's arrogant is a big fat mouth he's a liar he's a cheater and he's a thief
Now it's saying all the above you have to give the man credit for doing what he did do while he was in office
I think the Trump blew it and he realizes it now he had the chance of a lifetime to become the greatest president that we've ever had and he blew it
I think it's the man was smart
Instead of being pompous and arrogant and always wanting to hear himself talk did you put that energy into lobbying for something positive for our world the do it in the right way he could still be great if it wasn't so arrogant
Only time will tell about Trump supporters I don't think that he's going to win the election in 24 I doubt he will even try to run but you never can tell but if he's going to remain the man that he is today we don't need in an office like I said he did a lot of good things but we don't need somebody with the mouth like his to represent us because that's the last thing he did for me he embarrassed me and his tactics are just rude and uncalled for he could have done the same thing and then silent about it you got a lot more places but he has to be a big shot that's the one thing I disagree with actually there's a lot more but it is what it is13 Reply- +1 y
I've read that many Republicans viewed Ronald Reagan as the greatest Republican president we ever had. After Trump became president, Republicans now view Trump as the greatest Republican president we ever had. One of the reasons was because he stood up to Nancy P. and other democrats, whereas other Republican politicians were afraid to.
+1 yNot at all, but I DO question the intelligence of those who feel they must apply a derogatory label to anyone with whom they disagree! WHY are people always ranting about THIS group or THAT group? Why can't they just state THEIR opinion and maybe state why they disagree with the opposition's opinion - like a debate?
"Hmmm... well, I'm not sure I can counter that particular point you're bringing up. But, on the other hand, YOU'RE A TOTAL MORON! Well, there you go - I guess that settles the argument!"
Uh, no.10 Reply400 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I guess I differentiate between Trump fans and Trump voters. I don't mind the second. But the first are just obnoxious.
Like Trump voters basically had that or Clinton. And at the very least, Trump actually had a finger on part of the public pulse. Albeit it's darkest parts. But Clinton was insufferable as well, with her entitled attitude towards candidacy like it was some coronation of her "rightful place", loads of shady dealings, and almost cartoonish detachment from common people.
But like, that year, there were plenty of other Republican candidates. Of all the people... Trump? Like, "I don't trust politicians. They're all bought off by rich elites." But then the solution is to just put one of the buyers directly in power? Brilliant. That's like saying "I can't stand socialists. Maybe this Karl Marx guy will stop them." How was THAT your best option?00 Reply3.5K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Well if your smart you wouldn't support Biden or Trump so yes. And you would also mostly forgo worrying about politics.
You don't see Stephen Hawkings been like in 2018, Jeremy Corbyn! let's go!!! While he was long time support of labour party he never was one to support the actual runner for it. Because anyone who is smart can actually see the runners always are shit.

Unless you don’t like buying 2 dollar gas. Not having to wait at a restaurant because of staffing shortages. Paying less at the grocery store, with the shelves full of stuff.

Anonymous(25-29)+1 yI think people who let Donald Trump live rent free in their heads are idiots, especially those who come here daily to write about him. For a bunch of people who are so adamantly opposed to him, they sure do spend a lot of time rambling about him lol
He’s out of office, he’s irrelevant. Jesus Christ move on ffs03 Reply- +1 y
Move on? What you fail to understand is that Trump is the favorite to run as the Republican candidate in 2024. OK? Get it now?
Opinion Owner+1 yI don’t “fail” to understand anything. He’s damaged goods, he’ll be what Biden is now - too fucking old - and he’s irrelevant. He’s not in great shape and has already said he probably won’t run in 2024. Keeping him alive in the press and on social media, if it’s supposed to be some kind of cautionary tale, is better serving the other side. Even with his money, he can’t buy the free publicity democrats are giving him. He’s like a troll, time to stop feeding him and his ilk.
- +1 y
He *might* not run. But he could. So he's not irrelevant. :)
No. Only the people too dumb to see the differences in others and lump them all in as "Trump Supporters" without nuance or empathy to understand those outside of their own narrow mindset.

+1 yNope, they are just rebelling against the system. People were tired of political crap. There are many things that can be said against Trump. But a fresh face brought some promise to the people, who were exhausted of recycled politicians.
05 Reply- +1 y
Rebelling by denying reality.
That's a losing strategy. - +1 y
@supercutebutt I’m not actually American. But there’s a reason he got elected. This is part of the reason why
- +1 y
Nah. The main reason why is we have a fucked up system. Do you realize he lost by 3 MILLION votes to Hillary Clinton in 2016? Facts! :)
- +1 y
@supercutebutt Had no idea, but he did get a lot of supporters. Still has them
- +1 y
Yup. But more people hate him than like him. He lost by 7 million to Joe Biden in 2020. So he basically lost twice and the second time worse than the first. And Republicans are doing their best to rig shit up so he win by losing again in 2024. He'll probably lose by 10 million next time and claim he won.
27.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I would say that 95% of small business owners are big time Trump supporters. You would be hard pressed to find an idiot among them. Also first responders, tradesmen and truck drivers.
10 Reply11.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Considering a lot of his supporters thought Kennedy would rise from the grave in Dallas to somehow appoint Trump president, yeah, safe to say they're stupid.

14 Reply- +1 y
@exitseven: His policies are Republican policies. Any other Republican president would have done about 95% of Trump's policies. They been tried and done before. Nothing genius about that or Trump.
Trump inherited a economy that was going well because of what Obama polices, when Obama inherited a total disaster of a economy back in 2009 and took almost a decade to recover to decency. - +1 y
no, we had control of the southern border, his wall and wait in mexico policies were very effective. We had energy independence. Trump encouraged development of domestic energy and cut red tape for pipeline projects. We had lower taxes from Trumps tax cut. Low unemployment across all demographics from pro-business policies like cutting corporate taxes.
Obama left a mess at the border. He refused to stand up for America. - +1 y
personality has nothing to do with it, he was the first republican to push anti immigration which was great for the economy. trump might be replaceable now, but HE moved the party
