My stroke of genius is to turn around a third or second world country like Mexico with only having a bachelors in political science. My friends and family hate my ideas and say “you have a colonizer mentality.” I do not want to colonize anyone but I have a yearning for becoming someone known as a genius kind of like Abraham Lincoln. I have a lot of similarities to him and the thing is I cannot do this within the United States because it is already considered developed and I would be an average politician but in a country like Mexico, I would be very valuable and unique. I have this dream of solving immigration issues by making their country a better place to live in so they don’t have to leave. On the contrary and my stroke of genius; I can stand out and be looked at as insanely genius if I became a politician in a developing country. I believe in making third world countries as good to live in as my country. Yes, I do have selfish desires but who doesn’t in the world? I just want to leave my mark and I want to be talked about after I die by doing something out of the ordinary but maybe I’m out of my mind?

Well to do that you’ll need to not be anonymous on the internet.

How about instead of seeking your own glory that you find a specific group of needy (there are many forms) and just helping them for the sake of helping them. Lots of charity organizations. If you think they're all corrupt then join one best suited for you and IF you find corruption clean it out.
Ben Franklin said that politics is the art of the possible. What you're describing is simply not feasible.
I think maybe you should read about what happens to politicians in Mexico who try to change things too much. Let's just say, they tend to have something in common with Abraham Lincoln.

I would never discourage anyone against trying to make a positive change on the world around them, but I think your idea is a bit unrealistic.
Turning a country like Mexico around isn't a stroke of genius idea. Thousands of people have had the same idea. The problem is that Mexico's problems are deeply embedded in the institutions.

It depends on whether you can actually do that or whether you’re delusional. It’s highly doubtful that you’re a genius.

Serious question - what is the most number of nights in a row you have gone without sleeping at all? Also serious question - do people tell you that you talk too fast?

Mexico is actually pretty developed in some ways. You would probably have to make their economy stronger than the US economy which I have no clue how to do.

The only problem, third world countries are full of poverty stricken people who resort to violence. So I give you 1 in 3 not coming back in a coffin.
What's the point? Everything in life will eventually be forgotten, and in 1 billion years humans will no longer be here and no evidence of us will exist

Better off in business than politics. Most politicians are remembered as being scumbags by at least most people.
