I think so. American politicians are useless and brought by special interests, so nothing is going to get done significantly.

There are over 400 million guns in circulation in this country (impossible to get rid of all them at this point) and government doesn't and refuses to provide free accessible healthcare for its people.

In my opinion each state I suppose in the future will allow for open carry or concealed carry for everyone to at least have something to defend themselves when out in public against these craze devils when they decide to go on a murderous rampage.

A emotionally tense and backwards way to live when out in a semi crowded public area.

why is it that the US is the only developed country that allows and promotes people owning and carrying guns. what will it take to make the congress realise that selling guns and owning guns has consequences like what has just happened.

if you stopped the sales of guns your death rate would drop.

seems weird to me that there's 400 million guns in the country, yet we didn't suddenly get a huge increase of them. But we did see a sudden spike in shootings. The number of shootings is clearly not tied to the number of guns, since our gun populations has increased basically every year since the country was founded BUT the shooting numbers have had years where they've gone down.

Logic states that this shows it to be a "people problem" rather than a "gun problem". Maybe we need to be bitch slapping people harder for the misuse of guns rather than trying to punish the law-abiding citizens for the misdeeds of a few.

Already see Democrat bullshit wanting to impose a 1,000% increase on gun taxes or licenses, so the bullshit about "fair and reasonable" gun fees is out the fucking window. Cards have been shown, and it's a bit funny to see Democrats trying to make guns available only for the rich by those big ass fees. 🤪

AND, now we see that police don't give a shit if it means putting their lives in danger in order to try and save yours, so who the fuck gives politicians the right to play god and determine which of us have the "right" to defend ourselves and which of us must die when someone starts killing people?

Canada's proposed ban on handguns, leaves exceptions for the bodyguards of the "elites". Why are their lives worth more than any of the rest of us?

Shootings will continue to be a thing as long as people choose to go that route when they want to hurt others. Taking away MY guns won't stop people from buying guns out of the trunk of a car, from a guy who brought them in from Mexico, and that's a fact. You can't even pretend to have this conversation until the FIRST thing you push for is closed borders.

Jailing people without a plan to reform them just results in them becoming hardened criminals who just spent a ton of time networking.

In my opinion we should try hard to fix the ones that can be fixed, and put the rest to the firing squad. Cease the tax burden of endless repeat offenders.

It's sad, but sometimes people can't be fixed, and were in a time where we should be limiting systemic burdens.

These mass shootings aren't that crime driven sort of situation though, there more of a violent offshoot of the suicide epidemic, which is a whole other kettle of fish.

stop reporting the names of the shooters on TV, this will prevent lonely sad people from seeking fame in the same way and thus prevent copycat crimes.

i am a counter terrorism specialist, i am an expert in mass shootings. specifically taught to think like them. they don't care if they will live to see themselves on TV, it is enough to know they will be seen.
