I am so over people thinking the President of USA is responsible for gas prices. He is not a king. You are not living in a communist state where the government dictate commodity prices. The president actually has very limited control, as is his station as "Figure head" and the free market sets the price of gas depending on their greed.

Case in point, OPEC which is a major producer of oil decided to lower production to artificially keep the price of oil high and increase their profits. They could produce more and lower the prices but they do not want to. USA producing more or releasing more oil from the military stockpile is like throwing a bucket of water into the ocean. It will help, but not anything you will notice.

If you want to vote with your brain then you would do well to avoid ALL of the republican party and MOST of the Democrats because they are either incompetent or actively malicious, especially the Republicans. Furthermore you should vote for anyone who promotes "Green energy" because that is how you actually get out of the fossil fuel death spiral. The age of oil is fucking over and the longer you have it hooked into your economy the worse day you will be having.

You are also a failed state. You should consider not being a massive national embarrassment and get some gun control because you are looking more and more like a third world country that can't secure peace on their own streets by the day.

And lastly, for the love of God with a capital G, tax the rich into oblivion. Having more billionaires is NOT A FUCKING GOOD THING. You got waaaay too many for your current economy to support which means that they are actively hurting your country by hogging resources. They are a parasite and should be suppressed.

So yeah.. Is there even any politician that would do half of these REQUIRED things? Maybe Bernie.. there are scarce pickings. Point is that you need to fucking purge both parties because they are all worthless and quite frankly I dont trust the American people to replace them with anyone worth a damn in the first place. In a democracy you get the leaders you deserve. America, you dont deserve better until you yourself grow up and stop acting like spoiled kids.

The president is not solely responsible for gas prices but his policies are definitely a huge factor in determining the price and availability and production capacity that we have. Shutting down pipelines allowing Rush at the build pipelines putting a freeze on all fracking putting a freeze on a federal land drilling contracts. Although they say there's 9,000 contracts that are not being utilized that's because they are in Podunk b******* no oil areas why would they waste the investment money drilling where they know there's no oil. As far as ope Biden has been on his hands and knees begging them to increase production because he f***** everything up. He asked Saudi Arabia they ignored him and as a matter of fact made videos mocking his dumbass. Then he tries to blame it on Putin I got news for you Putin is selling his oil Russia's oil goes out all over the world but it is not cataloged as to the destination so if you think for a moment the United States is not getting Russian oil you're a complete idiot. Other factors that control prices of oil are people like Klaus Schwab who owns the railroads and are cutting back the hauling or the amount that they are going to haul and they are on in cahoots together the New world order whether you think it's a conspiracy or not it's all they talk about. Does the president control against prices no he doesn't set the price of gas just his decisions severely affect the price of gasoline absolutely 100%.

@noless10in Putting aside the environmental issues of fracking such as causing expensive earth quakes and polluting ground water. It literally does not matter. You can not produce enough to offset world supply and if you can't offset the world supply then the price you pay locally won't change.

Fossil fuel is a global market, if someone else around the world pays more for it they will happily take every drop of it from the USA and transport it over there. This idea that USA can be "self sufficient" or whatever and produce its own falls flat on its face as long as you have a free market economy.

Furthermore allowing more fracking sounds good on theory until you realize they are private companies and the same private companies who intentionally lowered production to maintain high prices in the first place. There is no lack of claims they COULD be extracting from.. if they wanted.. They got the paper works done and gotten approvals, yet they do not. They sit on their hands because they know that if they actually extracted from there then it would lower the profits of every other place they extract from.

But this is all irrelevant. Because the president does not have this power in the first place. It is the house and congress that actually makes the decision. The president is only there to sign his or her name on the finished decision. The president is a figurehead, not an actual king.

Yeah all those jobs and booming economy were terrible. That tax cut really pissed me off when it put a couple grand a year back in my middle class wallet. Best unemployment numbers in decades yeah that sucked too. 1.6% inflation yeah that was terrible, peace in the Middle East just can't have that but somehow he did it. Minimum wage was only federal because small businesses can't pay that. Plus wages are the number one cost in a business. Raise wages you just raised prices, raising cost of living which is just like raising taxes without calling it a tax hike. Just like high inflation is basically another tax hike
