Which French historical figures do you know?

Eleanor of Aquitaine, Margaret of Anjou, Charlemagne, Phillipe the Fair, D'artagnan (he was a real person), Cyrano, Louis XIV, Louis XVI, Cardinal Richelieu and his successor, Mazarin, Robespierre, Marquis de Sade, Champlain, Pierre Laplace, Rene Descartes, Antoine Lavoisier, Napoleon (technically Corsican, but he's as French as a croissant... which also isn't French), Jacques Cousteau, Soult, Ney, Murat, le petite general Lafayette, Francois Lallonaise, Lefite, Napoleon II, Jerome Bonaparte, Charles de Gaulle, Petain, Foche, Clemenceau, Roussau, Tocqueville, Rameau, Marin Maraise, Delibes, Satie, Faure, Debussy, Rene Fonke, Bleriot, Messier, Henri Charrier (Papillon), Dreyfus, Jules Verne, Roger de Flor, Marquette and Jolliet, the Montgolfier brothers, Mesmer, Suffren, Bougainville, Marie Currie (not born in France, but a French citizen), George Sand (I forgot her real name... Aurora somethingorother), Monet, Manet, Rodin, Gauguin, Deladier,
And let's not forget the great inventor Maurice, his daughter, Belle, her husband Prince Adam, the village braggart Gaston, his toadie Lefou, and Prince Adam's vallet, Lumiere. I suspect Cogsworth and Mrs. Potts are English.

A lot of them, but I am also a history nerd. My favorite French figure is the Maid of Orleans, but the most impactful was probably Napoleon Bonaparte. I do also like Catherine De Medici though.
Lol, the Sun King!
He was ok. I really liked his patronage of the arts and I think being called the Sun King is pretty bad ass, but he didn't do too much with the end of his life. He sort of just stopped at one point and let what was a powerful rule sort of die off. For example, he helped William of Orange become king of England instead of capitalizing on that situation himself and expanding his rule and power base.
Overall, decent king and I like him but wish he did more than he did sometimes.
I agree that he definitely expand France to new heights
That's the back of Zinedine Zidane's head there! Not sure someone best known for headbutting a guy in the chest should necessarily be considered a historical figure though...
I only recognize five or six of the others, and they've all been mentioned already.
Let's see, off the top of my head...
Jean d'Arc
Louis XIV
Marie Antoinette
Montgolfier brothers
Friedrich Nietzsche
Louis Pasteur
Napoleon Bonaparte
Marshal Petain
Pierre Laval
Charles deGaulle
I don't know many historical figures by sight. There are only four that I'm confident in. Quite a few more look familiar, but I don't know their names by the face. If I heard the names I've probably heard of most of them.
Napoleon, Eiffel, Brigitte Bardot, Cousteau, Roland Garros?
What makes Brigitte Bardot a historical figure? :)
From the pictures I identify: Rene Descartes, Lois XIV, Napoleon, Charles de Gaulle, Jaques Cousteau.
The Great Pepe Le
The Awesome Julie 4 worlds best educated tour guide. It would be a privilege and an honor for you to show me around France
Napoleon and Charles De Gaulle of course. Then there's the pagan general Vercingetorix.
And of course Henri from Libery's Kids lol.
Pepé Le Pew and Jean-Joseph Mouret
Uhh… one of napoleans?
Too many to name.
