Why do people on social media defend ex-president Trump?

For example if law enforcement got a warrant, and seized Hunter Biden's laptop I would not defend him because his dad belongs to the same political party that I do. I would actually laugh. Are the people online sad about Mar-a-Lago trolls?

There’s a cult like mentality among Trump’s base. They live in an alternate reality where there’s a conspiracy around every corner and they don’t want the cult leader held accountable for any crime. They are basically demanding that rule of law not apply to him. They are the danger to the republic but they can’t see it because they aren’t grounded in reality. Bottom line, he illegally removed boxes of records from the White House. Some of those records were classified and top secret (stored in highly secure cardboard boxes I might add rather than a secured server). That alone is grounds for an investigation and possible prosecution. The National Archives is missing records still and Trump’s lawyers have not been cooperative in returning them. Obviously a federal judge believed there was probable cause to search. Trump’s cult does not even wait to see the facts and circumstances the warrant was based on before hyperventilating and crying witch hunt because well……the facts are irrelevant to them. That’s not to mention that more boxes of records have allegedly been taken during the search. The info the warrant was based on may have been spot on and led to the recovery of more classified information. But again, MAGA land isn’t waiting to find out. They don’t care. It could be revealed that he’s selling our secrets to the Russians and Chinese and they would shrug their shoulders and vote for him again. That’s what we’re dealing with as a nation here. That’s how strong the self-brainwashing is.

Please explain WHY the FBI went after Trump's residence in FL? While you're at it, please explain WHY the FBI took Federal agents from DC with them instead of using those agents local at the Miami FBI branch. Also, explain WHY Trump's personal lawyers were NOT allowed to witness the search as they have a right to do, making sure what was taken was NOT planted evidence, or insuring personal property wasn't broken, as well as getting a full list of items confiscated. Finally, explain WHY the White House is denying they knew anything about this raid.

FBI Director Wray doesn't make a move without Attorney General Garland's approval. (For those who don't know, Garland is Wray's boss.) And there's NO WAY possible that Garland has the gall to do this crap without the approval and briefing the President beforehand. So shit like this doesn't "just happen".

Why defend Trump? Because I, for one, would like to know WHY the hell NOT? What has he done that requires a raid on his residence; something that's NEVER been done to ANY previous exPresident.

Because this is politically motivated to keep Trump from running in 2024. Raiding someone's home like that is not normal. It's suspicious. Like joeldalton said, the FBI never did anything close to Hunter or Clinton, or any other democrat. This is the first time anything like this has ever happened. Obviously everyone who is not brainwashed and knows that this is wrong will stand behind the victim. I don't want Trump to run. I want him to just go and live a normal life like most other presidents after they left office. But even with that, I have to stand behind him because this raid is just wrong. Very wrong.

history will show that Trump was the best president in modern times. Millions of working American's lives were improved in the 4 years that he was in office. The economy, military and private business all flourished. It is shocking how bed things have gotten in this country in just one year. Everyone has taken a 6800 per year cut in pay due to inflation. Our streets are no longer safe, homelessness is out of control, fentanyl poisoning is the leading cause of death for people 18-45 and over 100,000 Americans died from it in 2021. Most of this poison comes across our open southern border.

I don't defend Trump but I do condemn what occurred and the cheerleading by the scam artists that are supposedly all about "protecting democracy". The shit show that occurred Monday, is the biggest threat I have ever seen. Also, the longer Garland and Wrey remain silent, the more I lose faith in any potential case they have. The FBI are proven liars and agents have actually been convicted for falsifying documents against Trump. These fucks have a lot of explaining to do.
