If you had 150 billion dollars would you still want more money?

It's so weird to me how people's thinking is warped by capitalism. These huge companies underpay their workers and try and get the tax payers to pay so they can survive. So they're stealing money from the tax payers but all the people who are against welfare think it's alright because it's part of capitalism but if a person needs support they're a parasite a moocher lazy etc. And then these billionaires invent some charity with their own name on it and that's good because they're giving away their money but they still won't pay their workers more even though they're giving away money. How does this make any sense?

Rich people aren't idiots. All of the "clever" people who want to raise taxes on rich people think the taxes will get paid. What really happens is that rich people just tell their $300/hour accountant to move the money to where it doesn't get taxed or they tell their business development people to stop investing in building new factories/offices so the number of jobs goes down. See, the rich person doesn't actually need to keep a rich income that's taxable to enjoy being rich. It's not the same as raising taxes on someone who is stuck in a job where they have no other source of income except that job.

I'm not saying I like the US tax system tho. I'd rather have a flat tax for everyone... but people who like to get "free" stuff from others don't like that idea.

When I hear people talking about how bad rich folks are, I think, 'look in the mirror'. Rich people are just a reflection of society/culture. They are just another version of your neighbor. If too many rich people are greedy it's because too many people in general are greedy. You can't legislate how people feel. Laws won't force a person to care about their worker/brother/sister/wife/husband and so on. The time to make people behave like you wish is when you're raising kids or being a role model for other people's kids. But guess what? Most people today are too lazy to do that. They would rather make life all about having fun and claiming that traditions are bad because they restrict your "freedom". So we end up with tons of bad role models.

I was talking about what leads a person to still continue to pursue money without any regard for anything else when they already have more than they'll ever spend in their life. I know that they can avoid paying taxes if they want to that's pretty obvious.

I addressed that with 1.) Identification of the root problem, 2.) Suggestion on fixing the root problem. Of course it's way easier for people to complain (!) then to look at root problems or try and fix those which is another reason how we got to where we are today as a culture.

And I'm not saying their lifestyle isn't 100% valid for them. Just saying, it's all relative. Presumably the guy who is worth 200 billion wonders why you ain't trying harder and why you don't have 10 billion yet but he's too busy to spend too much time thinking about it. I don't think money magically causes a person to do bad things... therefore whether someone's life goal is $100 or $100 billion doesn't matter. Now how you treat others on the way to getting there... sure that matters.

The way it works DOES make sense. Of course it's not going to make sense to you if you don't understand it. If you don't understand astrophysics, that's not going to make sense to you either. But if you think you understand astrophysics but don't, it still won't make sense to you.

I'd want that shit outta my accounts into taxes, social programming, charities, animal shelters, sustainable energy lobbies, sustainability research, etc.

I don't want that much money if I'm not a responsible enough human to further my whole community and species.

If someone can't sustain their life at $105B, they need some therapy and a financial advisor.

It is quite funny you say this because here in Kansas we have a governor that opened up an old ammunition processing plant that has been abandoned and cleaned up. Allowed a company to come in to make batteries and has given them a big tax break. She said it will bring in thousands of jobs into our area.

If I had that much money I wouldn't spend my time arguing with workers who want a 35 cents pay rise in the UK because of a cost of living crisis and denying them the money. Time is a lot more valuable than money and I wouldn't waste my time making even more money when I already had more than I could ever need.
