Voting should begin at 16 and end at 80 (or have reduced power at 80 and above).

The young will inherit the world, and the old have a vested interest in voting against many of the policies which would help the younger generations. Old voters trend towards self-indulgent politics, not politics that will secure the future of the citizen who follow them.

Also, all corporate money, lobbies, speaking fees, arrangements (aka bribes), stock options, stock tips - all corporate money - needs to be removed from politics. Better yet, meet every and any attempt at corporate buyouts with multimillion dollar fines, prison time for C-suite (in federal prisons, not golden handcuff prisons), increased taxes as penalty, and media blackouts (e. g. no public ads allowed).

Is it draconian? Oh yes. But that's business. It's a tough game.

I get both sides. But I think having legal murder could save people a lot of money. I know it is expensive to sentence someone to death in US. But lets be honest there are a bunch of unessesary rules around it and ways that could have been done much cheaper.

I have heard ideas similar to Starship Troopers where service to the state, not necessarily the military, is required to vote. That way, there would be a little more at stake and they may be a little more careful about who they vote in.
