He is supposed to be this right winger who is a strong advocate of masculinity and doesn't like leftist or safe spaces but the man cries and moans a lot himself. 😭

Jordan Peterson is NOT a “right winger”. Just because some of his philosophies and observations resonate with conservatives, that doesn’t make him a conservative. I’ve been following Peterson for years and i’ve literally never heard or read anything about his political ideologies. His work is entirely pragmatic and people of all walks of life can and do learn from him.
Observing and contemplating sociopolitical issues isn’t much of a career if you don’t talk about them as well. You’re also a lousy professor, and frankly human being, if you flip flop your position on issues just because a few children disagree with you. Ell oh ell! You’re conflating his expression of his observations and contemplations with whining and crying. Short of his rightful complaints about threats of physical violence against him and his family, i’ve also never heard or read complaints from him. The lamestream media frequently and consistently misalign him and misquote him because his views are not always in line with the heavy leftist lean they’re paid to perpetuate. They do that to a LOT of free thinkers and that should concern you.

First of all, being conservative is not the same as being “right wing”. The wings are extremism. Not all conservatives are extremists just like not all progressives are extremists. Second, as i said, i’ve NEVER heard or read of him identifying with a political ideology, let alone a party. If you have proof of otherwise, link it. Otherwise you’re just spreading more lies and misinformation, just like the lamestream media.

Conservatism is technically more leftwing than classical liberalism.

It's explicitly a warning to liberals in order to avoid the murder rape fest you love. (specifically, the reign of terror.)

What turned me off to Peterson was his constant harping on men. And there are reasons he does such. Namely, he knows who his audience is primarily. Firstly, his books are sold as self help and then look at the demographics of who reads and purchases self help books. Hint: It's overwhelmingly women. So he has a financial interest not to insult his audience. At times his criticism are true of men, but he never goes the extra step. Why are there a lot of dysfunctional men? His language is explicit and direct in regards to men, but he side steps and slithers around on the impact women have on children. Seriously, when was the last time you heard JP say "Women are idiots?"

Some times he will point out that women became enraptured with Marxism while in school, but then again he never goes the next step. Do you think the reason why so many women swallowed Marxism is because 1) they came from a dysfunctional home and 2) the part of the brain that deals with spatial intelligence is dwarfed as compared to men? (Oh my, it's almost like men and women are different. Shocker!!!)

The last two points that turned me off to JP is his refusal to talk about Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn "Two Hundred Years Together." He talks about communism all the time and what happened in the Soviet Union, but he avoids this book. I think everyone should read this book.

And lastly, he became a junky. Like how's that life advice working for you. . . you know that life advice you promoted for the last 5 years now?

I wouldn't say he's necessarily big on masculinity, Jordan Peterson just sounds like a irritating dad telling you to get your life in order. He isn't a red pill masculinity guru or anything. He sounds pretty blue pilled when it comes to dating advice tbh.

At the same time, I wouldn't call him a emotional wreck though. Snowflake, maybe, given his recent videos and his video response to the Ellen/Elliott page situation. It's a shame since he usually seemed to handle those situations plus the campus protests pretty rationally and didn't get dramatic over it.

I think he is spot on for a lot of what he says. He teaches guys how to be better men. I think that is valuable. It sucks that someone would put together a video of times he cried. What kind of asshole does that?

@Part2603 I disagree with you on that. He's right wing enough, but not too much. But I would still like to see QA provide credible evidence to support his claim that "his advice generally sucks", which means that the bulk of what he teaches is bad. He won't, because he can't. QA is just a dumbass tool who is parroting the typical liberal talking points without actually using his own brain.

For one, I heard him teaching working a lot is somehow good (16 hours days) which he claimed he did for years and probably still does.

      Very stupid advice to give.

I don't listen to much of his talk because much of it is bull nor do I remember of all the things he says.

In the video above he is talking matter and pain and what is more "real" sounds like a idiot.

So you think like what? That Jordan Peterson is a lackey for corporate and hustler culture and that everybody needs to take a chill pill and relax?

And like what does that have to do with him being a "strong advocate for masculinity" or whatever? Do you think like, men are oppressed by the patriarchy into working 80 weeks or something?

I wouldn’t say that he is a snowflake. I think he feels things deeply, has always been prone to depression, and is not as strong emotionally as he was five years ago. The guy held his ground against the whole establishment trying to cancel him for the sake of principal while at the same time his family was dealing with serious health problems. He is personally in constant pain due as a consequence of withdrawal from a highly addictive prescription pain killer to which he became addicted. The guy has been through hell. I differ with him on some opinions, but respect his endurance.

What's the problem with a guy crying from time to time?

You say you're a Christian right? Jesus cried at different occasions in the gospels as well so is a cuck and snowflake of a man as well then? As he was not man enough to not weep looking at some cities (Luke 9,41 ESV) he has literally no relationship as a person to.

Like is that what you would say?

It's one thing to say that you don't like his advice because they don't fit for you but calling someone weak because there are videos of crying is immature to say the least.

Crying is a natural human behaviour and if he's touched by something so let him.

Crying != emotional wreck. Emotion is not a liability in itself. Emotion can be guided and marshaled.

We are the way we are because of our emotions. We decide because of our emotions. A layer of the rational mind helps us work things out, but without a heart to set a foundational premise the mind cannot select an optimization path.

Besides, hate is an emotion. Fear is an emotion.

To kill an enemy you must overcome the guilty hesitation that comes with it. To effectively fight an enemy you must understand him.

“In the moment when I truly understand my enemy, understand him well enough to defeat him, then in that very moment I also love him. I think it’s impossible to really understand somebody, what they want, what they believe, and not love them the way they love themselves. And then, in that very moment when I love them... I destroy them.”

I don’t think that he’s a right winger. He’s a liberal really. I actually think that he was pushed to fame in order to encourage young white men in particular not to go to the far-right, because some of the things he says will appeal to those types of men perhaps purposely. That’s one thing he has said that he’s proud of.

But maybe I’m wrong, still, he’s an ideas guy, a nerd. Those types are usually more focused on the mind than on physicality. More concerned with being intelligent than being strong, often seeing it as an either/or thing.

Jordan Peterson never claimed to be some kind of image of masculinity. This is not what people follow him for. I recall him saying in a GQ interview that he is more "agreeable" as a person. Naturally, it makes sense that he's in the field of psychology.

Also, I don't remember him ever claiming to be left-wing or right-wing.

You think he's a "right-winger" because he's been given a platform on the Daily Wire (the old guilt-by-association tactic), and that only happened because the Left has been so weirdly and adamantly opposed to him for no good reason. This is what right wingers do... They embrace those the Left consider "dangerous," which is basically anyone who is remotely critical of them.

I have watched/listened to countless of his videos and podcasts and literally have never seen/heard him cry until now. That tells me he doesn't do it nearly as often as you want to believe. Everyone cries sometimes. The man lives most of his life in the pubic eye so all of the few times he has cried have been caught on film, and some lowlife compiled them all into a video? What kind of douchebag does that sort of thing? And equally important, what kind of lowlife douchebag posts the video on GAG?

Well he actually is not a Right winger, even if he is now on the Daily Wire, he just identifies more with conservatism than anything, and he's not the type to say "Men shouldn't cry".. He also admits that he is a very agreeable man, and is subject to cry, and will even admit that he like everybody else has issues.. He never said he was a tough stoic guy.. In fact he said that his wife has a stronger temperament than he does.

Nothing is wrong with crying. Men suffer from a lot of emotional dysfunction because of the weirdness about confronting feelings.

I just think Peterson should focus on talking about masculinity. When he does, he is brilliant. When he dabbles in other stuff, he just sound ignorant.

I thought he was a centrist? People just thought he was right wing because of his more popular views? Anyway crying doesn't mean you're a snowflake it means you have emotions which is good. Sometimes it means you need to address those emotions but still doesn't mean you shouldn't ever cry
