It's bogus and just something preached to make people think they are a "class," which they are not.

The "rich" have always been such. Sure some whippersnappers come into some money here and there, but they usually get bought out, or end up selling out to "avoid trouble".

There really isn't such a thing as "middle class". Just varying levels of poor

This is commonly said but it's not true. The rich get richer. The poor get richer. And the middle class is growing at a tremendous rate.

I think it's probably true in most countries. In the US, the standard of living has definitely gone up across the board. The poor and middle class are WAY better off today than they were when I was young.

The growth of the middle class is worldwide, especially in "emerging economies". <-- I don't like that term, but it's the term that's used.

Yes I agree with you, that's why I said worldwide especially! The US and western Europe are a bit unstable now I think, with the inflation of multiple goods 😅

In the US? It started with the Reagan tax cuts, and got worse with the Bush and Trump tax cuts.
