What do republicans mean when they say that they are being ignored when they get so much attention in the media?

The Republicans loves to portray themselves as the victim. Rather than get approval for the policies and ideology they believe in they instead try to milk sympathy and pretends that they have the right to retaliate because they got attacked first.

It is a very old tactic and is a favorite for immoral people.

The only time they get attention from the media is when the media takes something out of context and tries to make it look like the Republican did something illegal. If a Republican has success with something you will never hear about it on the fake news.

I wouldn't say ignored. I would say that they have been censored off of platforms because they committed a thought crime.

What kind of attention would you say they are getting? I doubt it's mostly the kind of media that paints them in a positive light.

@SmokinAces2000 yeah, but that doesn’t mean that the conservatives’ concerns shouldn’t be listened to. In fact, I would probably argue that the fact they are in the minority isn’t even bigger indication that their concerns should be listened to.

I would have to disagree; you can't force people to listen to you whether you are liberal or conservative; and just because you are supposedly in the minority, does not mean people have to listen to you either.

I am not comparing to you to nazis but nazis and white supremacists are in the minority, and no one listens to them either. Nowhere in a democracy does it say that we have to listen to minority opinions even those we don't like.

@Asker what you're saying is kind of true, but there's a difference between what we need to do versus what we should do. America is not actually a Democracy; it's a Republic, and republics do require compromise. The issues that conservatives are bringing up are not generally matters of opinion, they're waving the red flag about consequences of liberal policies. A good example is how the elimination of cash bail has unquestionably allowed repeat violent offenders back out on the street, or how the schools are pushing curriculums that could easily be percieved as anti-white.

Regardless of how we feel about the overall message or idea of these policies, it's quite foolish to take the stance that there aren't any negative consequences to our actions. I'm a liberal by the way.

I understand and this is the last and only time I will say this; critical race theory is not anti-white; it is teaching us how systemic racism still persists and gives an unfair advantage to white people; and this is not saying all white people are benefiting from racism. It is saying that being white does not negatively impact white people and WE are not hindered to mistreatment from law enforcement. For example; I recently got a speeding ticket and was sent on my own way and I had to pay the ticket but yet a black woman in texas was arrested for a similar infraction; so how is that a fair system. I am not saying I don't want to take her place but it makes you wonder. Now you can choose to believe it or not and that is your choice. Now back to what I was saying, I understand being concerned about liberal spending policies and issuing reforms that bring more harm than good; but if people choose to not listen then that is their choice, no where can you force people to listen to the red flags also. No one listens until it is too late anyway and what concerns me is that conservatives want people to listen to their warning signs but what about our concerns for trump's actions on Jan 6th, to me he tried to overthrow the constitution and I don't care if he was democrat or republican; he tried to do to it and you can't keep claiming voter fraud for every election you lose. How does that create a stable system? all that does is create chaos and usually our economy suffers from it. Also the problem I have with "we are a republic not a democracy" argument is that it is only made by republicans who hate the idea of the popular vote deciding the elections. If the big cities were majority white, would you want the popular vote then? what if the electoral college votes came from blue states, instead of red, would you support the electoral college? It is easy to fall into the trap of my side is right and therefore everyone should listen idea.

Sorry for the long reply but it was necessary to explain my side of the argument and whether you choose to listen that is up to you, I can't force you but don't get mad when I have a counter argument to yours.

I am a Liberal, not a Republican. I don't understand why so many people conflate the idea of needing to do things vs that they are ethical things to do. I am not legally obligated to listen to ideas I don't like, but that doesn't mean there isn't value in listening to things I don't want to hear. I can believe that kids should learn about systemic racism while also acknowledging that I run the risk of teaching children to view societal problems through the lens of race.

I support the electoral college. I have always supported the electoral college, and will continue to do so. I think it is a tremendously valuable tool, no matter who is in office.

not trying to change the subject but you sound more like a libertarian in your argument than liberal because a liberal usually does not support the electoral college and here is the thing about not seeing things through the lens of race; it can actually make racism worse because it is hard to not do something racist without realizing it. Believe me I am not saying it is not impossible; it just takes a long time to unlearn a bad habit we were raised in. Also; I am conservative by nature but hate donald trump and his supporters for making it fashionable to be racist in the republican party when the party was always anti-racist. For me, I think we need to get rid of the electoral college because it can elect wannabe dictators like trump and you didn't even need majority rule for that.
