I dont know what you are talking about, Gold has fallen in value massively the last couple of months. Personally I am not a big fan of investing in gold, its a rather subpar investment at the best of times and there are better investments you can make when times are rough that keeps it safer from inflation and the machinations of governments. For example, many governments have large gold reserves, countries like Russia and when they get into trouble, such as being sanctioned by half the world but still want to trade then they might start flooding the market with said gold which will tank the market.

Just an example though.

To put it in simple terms, gold's always been the main shit, the undisputed best tradeable asset on the planet, the reason why now it's getting more value is for many reasons, 1) Inflation, the us dollar and the euro both aren't doing too well=Dollar gets a raise 2) Which is the more important part, The moment they blocked SWIFT on Russia they didn't allow them to deal dollars and euros, shot themselves in the foot basically because now they either have to be buy with Russian rubles or with, you guessed it, gold 3) Related to 2), when the dollar and the euro, especially the us dollar since that it's the main currency the world uses (soon to be used to use) for world trades, not only lose value but more importantly lose access and dependability from foreign countries in the trading market, with China making its own banking systems and Russia clearly stating it'll only take rubles and gold obviously, doubtful and shaky times lead to the high demand on the only safe thing, which has always been gold
