Russia has laws against marijuana. Brittney didn't think Russia would enforce their marijuana laws. Russia invaded the Ukraine and the world was like "Not cool Putin." So Putin was like okay arresting Americans for any infraction we can find on them. Brittney was arrested because of this. Fast forward to last week Biden trades Brittney for the "Lord of War".
