Obviously, you haven't paid any serious attention to the charges Hunter SHOULD be facing, including lying on the form he used to purchase a gun, that he later on, just tossed in the trash.

As for the President's children being off-limits, that primarily applies to underage kids, not fully grown adults that have broken multiple laws of the country. The President is equally as guilty for going along with these stupid schemes (quid-pro-quo - that the Democrats accused Trump of doing).

Was going to write my own response, but you hit it perfectly. Besides, where this gentleman got the idea that criminal activity should not be investigated and persecuted when it involves the child of a politician is beyond me.

Anyhow, my sincere compliments. You nailed it! Though I would add that, although there is substantial evidence to make the case of corruption by both Hunter Biden and his father, at this point these are still allegations and not fully proved. That said, to ignore the, quite frankly, substantial evidence against President Biden and his son would be folly on a colossal scale.

@nightdrot - You're correct about not ignoring the volume of damning evidence. But we both KNOW that's exactly what the FBI, the DOJ, and EVERY law enforcement agency will do because of Biden's past and present position.

And Hunter, because of who he is, will get away with what he's done. Even if convicted, his father will automatically pardon him. The corruption in Gov't at those levels is unbelievable.

Well, as far as that is what the FBI, et. al. are doing - it is what they are SUPPOSED to do. The President is not above the law and their job is law enforcement. They are LAW ENFORCEMENT agencies.

As to the latter point, that may happen. Frankly, I am not even that optimistic. As we have recently seen, there are serious allegations of political corruption in the DOJ in general and the FBI in particular.

However, while it is likely the President would pardon his son, doing so would come at enormous political cost to the President. (Not to mention that, given the evidence, there is significant evidence that the President was involved, as VP, in his son's influence peddling.) The bottom line being that it would put the Administration - and the Democrats in general - on the defensive.

If the Democrats in Congress decided that the cost was too high, it could lead to impeachment. (See also the GOP in the Watergate scandal for historical precedents.) A very least, it would doom any chance of Mr. Biden seeking re-nomination in 2024. Certainly it would end Mr. Biden's chances of re-election.

This is not as simple as you assume it to be.

He's Biden's son, he's not been a child for a long time. Children are off limits. I wouldn't mind a conversation about nepotism, but it's disgusting to want to talk about Hunter and not Ivanka and Jared who were actually given positions in the White House.

They’re only going after Hunter to hurt Joe. That being said, if he’s found guilty of a crime, you can’t complain if he’s held accountable. No one is above the law. Same is true for ex-presidents as well.
