Money doesn't make you happy because the goal-post keeps treading forward. Some people are fortunate enough realize this and prioritize other areas of life that actually yield sustainable happiness. This is coming from a financial advisor who works in wealth management.

People who make this type of money don't stop at that; so invariably they will accumulate wealth to the degree of having influence over others- this is just the nature of things. You're naive if you think otherwise, but that seems likely in your case.
