Why is the world so sensitive now and days?

I am so annoyed, today in a facebook group chat I posted a meme of a dog with boxing gloves beating up his owner , it said " when you leave your dog without water while your at work ". My friends girlfriend said I should of wrote "trigger warning" because domestic violence victims may be triggered by it". I ignored her but when and why us the world so sensitive? Trigger warning? Wth

I'd say more annoying. Historically you had witch trails and drowned to prove innocents and floating prove being guilty. That's more sensitive fragile to me personally.

Honestly whats the worst thing going to happen that an ok to a rant can't solve on this matter.

I support trigger warnings for certain things. Even domestic violence, but not for something like this joke/meme kf yours. Like there are some advertisement campaigns that depict a person bruised, a little bloody, cut, or scarred. That imagery I could understand having a "domestic violence" trigger warning, since it could remind someone of a trauamatic time (that doesn't provoke the same response as seeing a dog with boxing gloves). Some other things I think could use trigger warnings are things like gore (like that basketball player's leg bone popping out of his skin) or people in sexually implicative or revealing attire (since some people simply don't want to see that stuff).

But I do agree people have taken it way, WAY too far and people are acting overly sensitive. I say "acting" because I don't think these people ARE that sensitive, they're just virtue signaling.

Bear in mind offense is never given, only taken. And if someone is offended on behalf of another, their objections can and should be easily disregarded.
