Are doctors actually what they seem like in personal life?

Of course so many are required to hold a high standard of ethics. Are they usually like that in personal life or is it mostly professional, do you think?

To me it seems like it's almost engrained in them and they know people look up to them so much to hold a certain character

Not sure what you're getting at, but medical practitioners, as well as some adjacent service providers such as psychologists and counselors are required by law to talk to and deal with patients a certain way. They absolutely do not hold themselves to any kind of angelical standard beyond the demands of the job. Exceptions may exist in church run hospitals and in the more critical positions like EMTs, but a huge chunk of doctors and shrinks really aren't in it for anything more than money and status, or get so jaded over time that it's just a job to them after the first couple years. On the other hand though, I do know some people who absolutely hate the job, but stay with it because they consider it important and worth doing. Both are nurses.

i worked with this one iranian doctor while he was in med school. he was exactly how a doctor should act. i would never want him as my doctor until after 20 years of practicing but they do seem to be well kept together nerdy types

from a behind closed doors experience any workplace bathroom has signs stating "employees nust wash hands before returning to work" but doctors out of all people mostly don't. a little food for thought for the day 😷

You would hope that ALL doctors are responsible and respectful, but that's an illusion. Some are NOT!
