Indigenously - where are you from?

So I've been reading about the different groups that existed over time in the Middle East.

On my mum's side, I am certain I am Arab... on my father's side I might be Persian but I am unsure (due to migration over the years etc).

It's all very interesting!

I use the term indigenously because I am Middle Eastern and although a lot of us have a national identity there are a lot of indigenous groups that originated there. I could say I am Iraqi but I can’t always say I am Arab for instance.

My paternal grandfather is Ashkenazi Russian. My paternal grandma is Russian as far as I know. My maternal grandma is Asian Russian with some Mongolian roots. My maternal grandfather is Belarusian Russian. I wish I was more Middle Eastern, or south Asian.

I've been able to trace my family line back to roughly the 1100's, but it's nearly impossible for me to go any further than that, due to a lack of records from the time period.

Oh, you mean by blood. I'm a Polack. But I Googled my mom's maiden name, and it said it's Czech, even though my family claims it's Polish.

Poland was also invaded so many times, that I almost certainly have blood from other Slavic and Germanic countries. But I've never DNA tested myself. As far as I'm concerned I'm Polish

I'm from Iceland, which got settled by the Norse during the Viking age, where Gaels got imported for slavery - so that is what I'm a descended of.

And I've gone WAY back in my family tree, all Icelandic.

Irish, English, Scottish, and a little German I'm told. I was told my family has a castle in Ireland when I was growing up. And that we left during the potato famine. But this always confused me as I've researched the names of my mother and father and both have English names. I also always wondered if we have some viking blood as everyone in my family tends to be very tall.

Who knows? I'm a Turkish who has balkanian, anatolian and Asian roots. Turkish, Bulgarian, Anatolian greek, Crimiean and a little bit of Kurdish. Like an etnicity coctail...

My mother's side is descended from present day Bukhara, Uzbekistan. And my father's side is probably native Indian since I don't know how long.
