Like most (read all?) politicians you can tell he is lying by checking to see if his lips are moving.

There seems to be some confusion about what 'closing his accounts' means too.

If you listen carefully what he says is, paraphrasing, that he has gone to 6 or 7 different banks and asked them if he can open A PERSONAL AND BUSINESS accounts with them and been told no.

So he has not infact, it would seem, been told that he cannot have a BASIC account.

There are thousands of people out there who for one reason or another cannot have a personal or business account and there are ways of functioning for most activities for example a prepaid credit card would allow him to, as far as i am aware, do everything that you could do with a debit card.

He is not being asked to leave the country, he is presenting a potential option that he might have as being something forced upon him. It also rather arrogantly presumes that another country want him.

It's a shame really that there should be such a lot of bullshit because there might be a valid point in there somewhere; it is not clear to me for example if you can have a basic business account which does seem to me to be something which should be a right just as it is a right to have a basic bank account, it should not be up to a bank to decide whether or not you are allowed to do business and it is reasonable to say that access to electronic transfers etc are a fundamental requirement in the modern world for many types of business.

So far as I can see what he is being prevented from doing if anything is taking electronic business payments and if that is the case then that is legitimately a problem and it should be addressed in the house.

My gut feeling is there's more to this than Farage is letting on. Not only does one bank not want his custom, several others have refused to take him on.
He's trying to twist it to look like it's down to his political views but I think the banks have got wind of something highly illegal.
