Why do conservatives want to be persecuted?

For those who hate having a victim mentality, the conservative status quo defenders they cry persecution when the things they want to preserve like white supremacy is overthrown in every aspect of American life. Holding onto white supremacy can also take the form of lgbtq opposition because it is insecure straight incels who are angry when their unearned position in society is overthrown and given to someone of color or not straight with more merit than just for being born straight and male.

Victimhood is the core of GOP messaging. They’ve convinced the segments of society that have the least history of oppression (white men, heterosexuals and Christians) that they are in fact the most oppressed. The premise of that is completely ridiculous and ignorant of reality but it’s been effective. It’s all by design though. If you feel victimized, you’ll latch onto the guy who claims he can fix it, even if he’s a criminal or unfit or a complete moron. That’s why the drumbeat of false narratives will continue. Trump said it best, it’s not what you say. If you repeat it over and over, people will believe you. Propaganda 101.
