They have been so indoctrinated by the media that they really believe that it is better to pay 5 bucks a gallon for gas than 1.99. I actually know people that think that Trumps economic policies were a disaster and as soon ad Biden became president and he reversed them all things got much better. It reminds me of that episode of Star Trek TNG where Capt Picard is in prison and they tell him that he will be released if he says that he sees three lights. He refuses because there are really only two. They continue to torture him but he still says that he sees two lights. Finally when Riker and Data and the boys come to the rescue and free their caotain he tell Riker that he was actually seeing three lights.
