Not necessarily. A second language is definitely a good way to use your education, and it is hard. I've been learning Spanish for a few years now and I'm just now getting to he point when I can hold very very small conversations. Anyhow, point being is your language doesn't indicate the lack of education.

Yeah, in my opinion it's the most important language in the world rn and it's also easy to learn.

@jahaims bruh Mandarin is way harder. English is in the Germanic language family and I'm a dutch speaker which is also Germanic so it's easy for me and a lot of other people. When you have a different alphabet, yeah that could be hard but that's vice versa also the case.

I said one of the hardest not the hardest. English must be hard for you if you can't read it. I am aware that English is inherited from proto-germanic with significant influence from latinate and romance sources. Finnish, Russian, Japanese, and Mandarin are also considered hard to learn. How hard a language is to learn depends on what your native tongue is.

@jahaims www.ef.com/.../ .. English is literally not fk hard. I learned it when I was 9 because of games and movies. Even just the basics are easy compared to a lot of other languages lol.

@jahaims I feel that English is more hard for people that are just lazy to learn a language. But if you know lots of languages, you know it isn't. It's probably harder for people from a different alphabet except Russians, since they learn English at school too and should be average at least.

Oh, you "feel." Feelings aren't facts. Your feelings are why you let your biases blind you with ignorance.

"Unlike other languages, English has no cases, no gender, no word agreement, and arguably has a simple grammar system. English speakers sometimes have difficulties when learning Portuguese because they are not used to words having genders."

Depends what your original language is. I would find mandarin almost impossible to learn most likely.

No. You could be a university professor in your individual field (e. g. ancient Japanese mythology) and never need a word of English in your life.
