I absolutely loathe them. The only exception being the police and border force documentary types where the situations are real (afaict).
Big Brother and the like have simply created a generation who know how to "win" at reality shows, and that's generally by being the biggest and loudest asshole on the show. They're terrible role models for any kids growing up watching them.

I liked the one about crab fishing -- that was like a documentary about real people doing something real. Ice Road Truckers is presumably similar but I've never watched.

  I never had a conservative era as an adult. I read Ayn Rand when I was like 15 but I got over when I got a better understanding of economics in the real world.

Those are scripted reality shows. There are no reality shows.
Scripted reality shows aren't that popular I font think but they are insanely cheap to make.

I think reality shows are a waste of time. They have nothing to do with reality. The only reason that they are on TV is because they are cheap to produce and people watch them.
