@CALIGVLA I’m pretty neutral on Zionism as it’s being applied. I’m pro-Jew, as a general rule, and pro-Palestinian. I want everyone getting along and not trippin’ over some religious bullshit. Hamas is fucked and so is the current Israeli government. There’s no “good guy” in that story. There has to be compromise from both parties. This essentially an argument over who has rights to the same land they consider to be holy to their respective religions. It’s deeper than that, but that’s the root cause, and that’s wild that this is a kind of dispute we’re still having in 2023, feels more like 1023 bullshit. The Jews have been catching bad ones throughout history. I believe in them having their own nation, and they have roots in Jerusalem. Unfortunately, the Muslims do too, so here we are. I think Israel is fucked for their handling of the Gaza region. I think Hamas is fucked for what were egregious crimes against humanity that should in no sane and decent world be spoken of in the same breath as “freedom fighting.” We have rules for war, and they shattered them. That’s not how you do it, and that’s not how you get the world on your side. You don’t rape civilian women in the fucking street and slaughter civilian families. Your cause was valid, your execution was atrocious. I don’t root for war, I think Israel needs to take some amount of high road here….. but OF COURSE they’re gonna slide on you for what you did, who wouldn’t?
