Why dont pro lifers just come out and admit they are only pro life just to punish women they deem immoral?

I think some of the meanest people I've met have been people that labeled themselves prolife, like many of the commenters here. A regular poster on here who has now left said it best in one of his mytakes. He said something to the effect of "nobody really gives a crap about other people, not really, they hear about bad things happening to people and children everyday and barely blink an eye, but they sure like to take the moral high ground when it comes to abortion". I'm paraphrasing but I think you get the idea. I don't even really bring it up here anymore, because I find the so-called prolife crowd irritating and irrational.

Then why are the majority of their post are about wanting women to take responsibility for getting pregnant? Sounds a lot like punishment to me.

It's not taking responsibility that's the issue for me, it's the pro lifers who think they have a right to force someone to take responsibility for anything. These are the same anti-vaxxers who don't want to be held responsible for spreading covid-19 yet they don't want to be forced to get vaccinated and yet they want to force women to give birth because they see pregnancy as a just punishment for women they deem immoral.

i can understand how you feel and to be sure, unfortunately there are people out there like that. this type tends to be radical and vocal. however, i do think many people have an opposition based on religion or principal and at least don’t view it as a desire to force people, though that’s what litigation would do. me for example, if i HAD to choose i would side with pro life because i have a moral opposition to extinguishing the seeds of life. i guess since i don’t want to force people i don’t actually want a law. i also don’t judge women who have accidental pregnancies, but i do think abortion is a kind of murder. anyhow, i get what you’re saying, but i don’t think everyone is quite like that
