That can be true. But many people are simply obnoxious by nature and want to inflict harm on others. If someone does that, just tell them: "Have a nice day" and be done with them.

No, if you are stupid enough to argue online, then you both have no idea anyway, and just slinging opinions hoping something will stick.

A good insult, like a good put down, adds spice to an argument. But you can only argue with equals. No point wasting time on people who barely understand you.

It's immature to insult during an argument. You can either learn from the other person and change your opinion or you can try to convey your opinion so that they understand yours. An insult ends any productivity. It's childish and shows that they lack confidence in their opinion.
