We've been on course to meet the same end as the Roman Empire, and both political parties got us here... even if the Democrats are much better at getting us there faster. If the country is the Titanic, the smart passengers are learning how to build boats.

Don't agree. Trump was an outstanding president scoring unprecedented accomplishments both domestically and on foreign policy. He may be the only person in America who can turn the mess the Democrats got us into around.

And if you had a dollar for every person he hired who later stabbed him in the back & was proven to be working for the deep state that is intentionally trying to torpedo America, you'd be rich. But I get it, it is very hard for people to admit that the end of the road is approaching swiftly.

Ehhhh... I think a better point is that it's very easy to throw up your hands and give up. Americans don't do that.
Trump walked in the door in 2017 not knowing just how corrupt Washington was. He trusted too much in the beginning. He was a businessman not a politician. No mortal being who is not in Washington could possibly know the level of corruption without being exposed to it firsthand. But now he knows the game like the back of his hand and he is the only one who knows where the skeletons are hidden and has to guts to do something about it. He is the only one NOT on the take. - +1 y
"Americans don't do that". Maybe you don't actually realize how corrupt the government IS. Or why that corruption is a direct product of how corrupt the average American family is today. I would argue that Americans gave up long before I was born but I was too dumb to know it. It just takes time for all the pieces to crumble. Just like it took time for the Roman Empire to collapse. But to each their own, as they say.

@exitseven Did you know you could have a lifeboat overloaded & not even know it because the water is calm. But once the wave comes the whole thing gets swamped and the sharks eat everybody? We have the illusion of safety right now. Some of us prepare for the day when the illusion is removed and reality sets in.
- +1 y
What illusion of safety? Since Biden became president we have never been closer to catastrophe. America has been invaded by 10 million unknown people from over 100 other countries. The world is on the brink of WWIII if not already IN it. This may be the most dangerous national security environment America has ever experienced.

@RingOfFire examples of Illusions many people have
-Women are just as strong as men
-I will always be able to just go 5 minutes to the store to get food, any day of the week
-I can drive to my friend's house without getting stopped by a criminal roadblock
-The electricity will be working tomorrow
-The water will keep coming out of the faucet like magic
-If I have a problem, I can just call 911 and somebody will come help
-The people who hate me won't just come over & PURGE me
-It's easy to make a meal cause you just buy stuff and heat it up or go to the restaurant
-My money is safe enough in the bank/crypto exchange/stock market
--Fire department will put out fires so if a fire starts 5 houses down it's not my problem.

Kamala Harris is even more unlikable. Gavin Newsome got his clock cleaned by Ron DeSantis. Imagine what President Trump would do to him? Michelle Obama would be a joke. She never had a real job before. she had affirmative action, made up jobs where failure had no consequences.

Here in the UK we want Trump back. He was hilarious and enlivened our tv news programmes brilliantly.

Interesting that you find the only president in a half century not to get America into any new wars, the first person on planet earth to successfully implement a peace treaty between the Arabs and Israel although many leaders before him tried, the first world leader to be able to put an end to North Koreas dangerous missile tests which ceased while he was president, the only leader who was able to silence Iran and bring the terrorist leadership there to the brink of overthrow, the president who prevented Russia from invading Ukraine after his predecessor B. Hussein Obama allowed Russia to invade and annex Crimea and the president after Trump, Biden allowed Russia to invade Ukraine yet again.
So interesting that the people of the UK find the president that did more to promote world peace and in fact succeeded in doing so far more than any other world leader in modern times "hilarious."
Your sense of humor makes it sound like your people learned absolutely nothing from the two world wars in which America had to save the European continent from total self-destruction. - +1 y
@RingOfFire Nah mate, I don't think you get it. We don't see the actual actions of your political systems. We see an orange man shouting about a wall in front of hundreds of people- all wearing red hats- as he presses his lips together to make that perfect meme of a face. We see a reality tv show billionaire who was on a Simpsons episode as a joke and gave advice to sexually harass women. We see an irreplaceable, undeniably hilarious individual. And at the same time, we get to sit back and watch how your country reacts to that human being.
The attempted impeachment, the bleeding Trump mask, all the jokes in TV shows, Alec Baldwin dressing as him, the fake votes scandal in 2020, saying covid was a hoax and then GETTING COVID. How do you not see that this man is an entertainer at his core?
Look, we can't vote but we still have to watch him. Let's not lie, if you weren't from the US you'd indulge in his antics every time. It's kinda similar to the British royals. You can't choose who they are, you're not from their country and their actions don't directly affect you. So, you might as well chuckle at how they act. I mean cmon, Prince Harry talked in length about his crotch turning blue from frost bite. Tell me they're not hilarious from a distance - +1 y
@wiltingrosepetal
Oh but I do get it. I see the surface humor. But this is serious business and there is far too much mocking and not enough supporting.
Fact is that the worldwide anti-Trump propaganda machine has spread lie after lie about his presidency to such an extent that there is no time to indulge the mocking humor. The fate of the world is at stake here.
In fact there are millions of people in Europe who despise Trump not based on the factual content of his accomplishments but based on the propagandized claptrap coming from communists and the ceaseless mocking which serves to penetrate the minds of the ignorant such that they become irretrievable.
There is a time and place for political satire. But this is not it. America is in a battle with the dark forces of the likes of communist China, terrorist Iran and the dangerous remnants of the collapsed Soviet Union still living within Russia. And if it loses this battle, nowhere on planet earth will be safe (Europe will be the first to fall). We get the mocking of President Trump's persona. It is ubiquitous. What we need is the SUPPORT. - +1 y

"You didn't come into WWII until half way through."
Correct. We said "OH SHIT! Those Europeans are destroying themselves. Now we have to go in there and save their asses!"
Little did we know that not only did we have to rescue them from themselves but we would still be carrying them on our backs 80 years later still to this day spending a fortune in our blood and treasure to pay for their defense while they have their high teas and crumpets and call us war mongers and capitalists. Not to mention the fortune Americans spent rebuilding Europe under the Marshall Plan to keep you from living in caves.
The reason you people hate Trump is obvious. He is the first US president to demand that Europe keep its agreement to pay a measly 2% of your GDP ***FOR YOUR OWN DEFENSE*** instead of making the American people pick up the entire bill for you freeloaders... so you at least would reduce your leeching off of Americans. You people fought him and fought him on it and in the end STILL aren't paying the minimal amount you legally are bound to pay. You are getting a free ride off of the backs of American taxpayers and yet have the nerve to insult us. - +1 y
No one is "legally bound to pay 2% GDP". (It actually means spend and not pay, by the way.) It was a guideline for most of NATO's existence and has become a "pledge" at the 2014 NATO summit. A pledge is still not binding law.

Spoiled freeloaders living off of the backs of Americans.

Hopefully, in the event of that scenario, there are enough sane Americans left so that Newsom wouldn't have a chance in hell.
