Do you think Putin is a monster?

Not even close compared to other world leaders.
Russians love him. He's doing a great job with the Russian economy.
He actually has his country's best interests at heart in contrast to U. S. leaders.
He's a shrewd diplomat. A 3D chess player.
I think he has a pretty good moral compass.
I don't idolize him or anything, but I think "monster" is hyperbolic. That would be based on U. S. portrayals. But consider the source.
I don't like him, but when put into perspective, he's pretty moderate by current Russian politics standards, and frankly other eastern heads of state like Zelenskyy are no better. Propaganda trying to prop these people up as anything other than glorified tyrants is nauseating, yet at the same time taking them out tends to pave the way for more radical leadership.

He's just Your regular cynical politician, but actually doing what's best (or in recent years, simply vitally important) for his country, even if it goes against the moral code (I mean, morals are not exactly a strength of most politicians anyway). He's a strong leader who knows what's best for his people. It ends up being close to the worst to every neighboring country of Russia, as well as the worst to the other world powers, but that's just a side effect. If that makes him a monster... Then he is one. Together with most of the politicians worldwide, though most of them care much, much less about their own countries.
you smoke something else then normal cigarets. Putin minde is out of reality and your text as well, you don't know what you say.
@Alexandrubaschet08
Then tell me exactly where I'm wrong.
Amending the constitution of Russia after he promised the people that he would not do it.
The assassination of the writer Anna Politkovskaya, who was an even harsher critic than me with numerous articles and books written against the Russian post-Soviet regime, assassinated on October 7, 2006 (Putin's birthday present).
Failure to respect the independence and suzerainty of the countries of the former Soviet republics, Rep. Moldova 1991, Georgia 2008, Ukraine 2014 (the years of each Russian invasion). These nations wanting us to wage war with Russia.
The arrest of journalists and political opponents.
Censorship at the public level, outlawing the word "War" in Russia, anyone who says this word in public is arrested.
Funding of political parties from other countries (interference in the internal affairs of other countries), in my country being a party in parliament financed directly by Moscow.
The use of energy blackmail in the Republic of Moldova, a country that declares itself neutral in the conflict with Ukraine. The gas being extremely expensive to displease the citizens totally dependent on the Russian gas and to pour out their anger on the new pro-European leaders.
The sale of Sputnic vaccines, under the conditions in which it declares itself a friendly country with Rep. Moldova, and Romania, the friendly country, donate vaccine quantities unconditionally.
I CAN SAY MUCH MORE.
@Alexandrubaschet08
Okay... So some of these things prove he's immoral. Some of these things prove he's simply ruthless. However, all of these things prove my own point that he's a good and strong leader, capable of dealing with both internal and external disturbances, as well as disregarding democracy where necessary.
Of course, he's only a good leader for Russia, for the Russian neighbors and the other world powers he's an absolute menace.
You have no brain. What u say is russian shit argument propaganda. In USA there is no toilet in the back yard of the school like in Russia and Russia is older the USA.
MOUST OF THE COUNTRY IS UDEVELOP COMPARING WHIT ITS WESTERN NEYGHBOUR.
PUTIN IS A FORMER KGB, YOU ARE NOT EVEN RUSSIAN TO UNDERSTAND HOW SEVER IS THIS FACT.
@Alexandrubaschet08
Well... In Russia there is no political polarization that makes people so belligerent that the society is basically in a state of collapse and almost constant infighting. In Russia there is no consumptionist death trap. In Russia You can always count on others' help and hospitality when in any kind of trouble, even as a tourist, unless You live or travel through some of the biggest cities. In Russia there is no military build-up aimed at maintaining and expanding the ability to strike anyone, anywhere, anytime, with no proof available as to the culprit of the strike (okay, they are working on the PAK DA, but it's not expected to enter mass production anytime soon).
Generally, Russia can be seen as much more humble and appealing than most of the Western countries, and yet simply ready to fight back if threatened in any way. What You call "underdevelopment", I call being honest and not using horrendous amount of debt to try to look good.
Russia is definitely a threat to its neighbors, and as one of them, I'm not a big fan of the Russian goverment, but what has to be said is that Russia is simply pragmatic and successful in defending their vital interests.
government*
Defend of F who? NATO IS A DEFENCE ALLIANCE!!! WE WILL NOT ATTAK ANY TIME IF WE ARE NOT BOMBED. MY HISTORY IS CONNECTED WHIT RUSSIA. RUSSIA FROM 1711 TRY TO ANEX MY COUNTRY >EVRY TIME WE HAD BEEN ALLIES<... ALL ITS HISTORY RUSSIA IS PROMISING SOMETHING AND IS DOING EXACTLY GHE OPOSIDE ONE. RUSSIA IS A DISFUNCTIONAL STATE!!!
To take more land, that what Russia had alwase done!!! Listen to damn Eastern Block we had deal with Russia for more decades the you western. We know what we talk about. RUSSIA IS THE EVIL EMPIRE AND MUST FALL UNDER IT OWN MIGHT!!!
I think so yes. He's most likely murdered his rivals, and definitely has a corrupt machine of oligarchs which he heads up like a mob boss. He has stolen a lot of riches from Russia and made all his friends wealthy by stealing sometimes straight up whole companies. I think he dreams of recreating the Soviet Union and wants to conquer his neighbors. But I don't think he would want to take on the US or have any part of a nuclear war. I also don't think he really wants to exterminate people like dictators of old. So he might not be the worst monster just not an especially great guy.
I don't think we know all the facts on him or all the reasons that may have led the war to begin and I refuse to make a judgment without knowing more. All I can say is my impression of him is poor, he seems to be easily offended, and has an inferiority complex. But Zelensky also seems like a narcissist with an extroverted and abrasive personality. This is just my impression of them. Not facts.
Yes, it's a freaking monster. A creature born through an ass hole. He ate rats in the former Leningrad and now they are taking their toll after so much fermentation in his body.
I don't claim to understand Russia or their culture. It seems, it is ruled with an iron fist. That to me says... they have serious trust issues rooted in fear.
So far, the only bad shit I've heard about him is the made-up shit from CNN and the rest of the loony lefty ilk, except for him attacking Ukraine. If it wasn't for the Ukraine attack, I wouldn't think badly of him at all!
I think Western media tries to portray him as one but I think he's a man who happens to hold beliefs different to those in the West and is a product of the time he grew up in.
No, he is a man trying to re-establish the former Soviet Union, using whatever means he can. That's misguided.
Yep...
Just like any other popular politician.
No, he is just another tinpot dictator with delusions of grandeur.
Not sue
His Price hicks were bad
