From what I know about the Hashashins (or Assassins) under Hasan Sabbah, most of them did not try to escape or run away after completing an assassination. They had been thoroughly indoctrinated by Sabbah to willingly give their lives for their cause if needed. Some key things:
- The Assassins were given drugs and brought to "The Garden" paradise at Alamut castle, where they were programmed to be fully committed to Sabbah's orders without question.
- They went into missions expecting to either succeed in the assassination or be killed in the attempt. Escape was not seen as an option.
- If they were caught or overwhelmed after an assassination, they would fight to the death rather than be captured and give up intelligence.
- Some accounts say they may have even carried poison with them so they could commit suicide if defeat was imminent rather than be taken alive.
So in summary dude, based on what I've heard about those legendary Assassins, they were totally brainwashed by their leader to see death in service as an honor. Most likely they wouldn't run but rather stand their ground till the end if the mission went south. Pretty gnarly stuff!
