Trump had a better grasp on covid than Biden did. He was there at the beginning when nobody knew much about covid. He took charge from day 1. He made mistakes and trusted some of the wrong people but he got a lot done including getting the vaccine created. The deaths during the Trump administration was less that the deaths when Biden was president for the same time frame. Biden was handed a vaccine on a silver platter and he totally bungled the rollout.
