Do you agree that Trump being bad does not make Biden better and vice versa?

For some reason I began thinking about this this morning and it occurred to me that as much of an evil person as Trump might be , Biden is not really any better. Biden has a long and bad history of warmongering and most recently he has been supporting an absolutely horrendous genocide in Gaza, mainly for financial reasons.

I find both of these men intolerable. I think Trump has victimized many Americans and Biden seems to victimize foreigners. They are both immoral predators and psychopaths. They both disgust me. The only difference is that Biden is slightly more adept at covering up his misdeeds than Trump is.

It has been a long and rough road for my thinking to reach this point finally, but here I am today. Please tell me what you think.

I wish that we had better candidates for our next presidential election. I really do not think I can bring myself to vote for either one of them. Not that my vote matters much.

between the two, it's a no brainer for me... even though I dislike trump and actually like Biden somewhat, I like Trumps abilities and policies and more of his communications. I dislike most of what Biden does or says. I trust Trump more.

That said, they are just people in a circus show. I don't fault Biden for the messy decisions in Gaza. What else should he do? I have other ideas and I think Trump would have done better. But there's a lot of pressures going on and big decisions. Slaughtering a bunch of children that won't cause problems within his timeframe is an easy choice. It will be someone elses problem. It's not what I'd do. What would I do...

I'd have the whole country praying for Peace and quick resolution, daily, it be on the news. I'd be publicly calling for release of hostags and end to fighting. I'd be working to move the women and children out of the hell hole to a better hell hole, so less damage. I would use the military as biden has to product commerce. Realize... there is no solution though to this family squable... you know that... it's a psych issue from long ago compounded by trauma.

It is easy to be an armchair quarterback. These execs have a lot of #1 priorities going on, risk of screwing up one is easy. If we only knew the crap they dealt with, we'd probably not complain so much and be glad we haven't been nuked.

Most successful businessmen that I know were all bastards. They took shortcuts, bent the rules and took advantage of people and situations. Yes, it does make you bad in some ways. But people are complicated. Trump may have cheated on his wife and maybe cheated on his taxes. He was also a good father who truly appreciates his family. I also want to think that he is doing what he is doing because he wants to make America Great Again. Having the world's biggest ego must fit in there someplace but isn't it possible he wants to leave a strong America for his kids and grandkids?

I totally agree with that. And, it's actually the reason that I defend Trump so much, even though I disagree with him and don't particularly like the guy.

The reality is that Trump might have highlighted and displayed the extent of government corruption to the people, but he definitely didn't start it. Now that Biden is in power, a lot of the corruption continues on like business as usual. We don't hear as much about the corruption because Biden is the media's sweetheart, but it's just as bad, and in some cases even worse. It's just "business as normal" under Biden.

Obama and Biden were actually butting heads all the time over the amount of corporate money to allow into the oval office; Biden wanted more, Obama wanted less. I think that anecdotal evidence alone might be enough to question whether the corruption has gotten worse under Biden.

The exact same level of corruption was going to happen either way. But under Trump, you heard about it.

Ohhhhh yeah, and the insane stunt he pulled with suspending the writ of habeas corpus under the Indefinite Detention Bill. One of my classmates was actually involved with something similar; extrajudicial killings in Italy while he was in the Navy.

People younger than us don't realize how insane the war on terror actually got.

Yep..."but your guy!" mentality is so prevalent now a days... that's why I walked away from politics (haha and I'd just end up with assassination attempts again and that shite gets old). Rarely am i voting for a candidate. Usually I'm voting against the other candidate.

Probably so. Maybe also the stress. Everybody that holds this office winds up looking about 8 to 10 years older after only 4 years. I think the pressure must be almost unbearable.

Yes. Also, people get WAAAAAYYYYYY too tied up in the personalities or the personal characteristics of these guys. Those things would be interesting if they had similar POLICY views. But if they don't, then you might want to know what policies come with each guy. And it doesn't even have to be something THEY PERSONALLY care about so long as it's what's going to happen when they come into office and delegate to whomever they'll delegate to.
